Ridgeewood NJ, The Ridgewood Village Council Meeting last night was marked by a celebration of public service and commitment, as two dedicated individuals were sworn into new roles within the Ridgewood Fire Department (RFD).

Ryan Romero was officially sworn in as a Lieutenant in the RFD. Lt. Romero brings nearly 20 years of fire service experience to his new leadership position. His dedication began in the volunteer ranks, where he rose to the level of Captain before continuing his professional service in Ridgewood for almost a decade.

His promotion is a testament to his expertise, leadership, and long-standing commitment to the safety of the community.

New Career, Local Roots: Welcoming Firefighter Connor McGuire

The RFD also welcomed its newest career firefighter, Connor McGuire.

A lifelong resident of Ridgewood, Firefighter McGuire started his journey as a volunteer with the RFD in 2022. His decision to transition from a dedicated volunteer to a full-time career firefighter demonstrates a deep commitment to serving his hometown.

His swearing-in marks the beginning of a crucial career path dedicated to protecting the lives and property of his fellow Ridgewood residents.

  1. Congratulations, how come when is a promotion, new hire, someone retiring it’s always a big deal in the police department, & fire department, . All of the other departments don’t get any recognition at all. Talk about being lower than whale poop.
