Paramus NJ, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, demonstrators gathered outside the Tesla dealership on Route 17 in Paramus, in a show of both opposition and support for Elon Musk and his electric vehicle company. The rally drew a mix of protestors critical of Musk and his influence, as well as counter-protestors advocating for Tesla and its continued growth.
Rising Tensions Surrounding Tesla
The protest comes amid a wave of attacks on Tesla properties across the country. So far in 2025, at least 20 incidents of Tesla property destruction have been reported, including arson attacks at charging stations in multiple states such as Massachusetts, Oregon, and Nevada. Additionally, Tesla vehicles have been vandalized, shot at, and set on fire in various locations. Law enforcement has arrested at least 15 individuals in connection with these attacks.
Some analysts point to heated political rhetoric as a contributing factor to these incidents. Statements from public figures and media personalities have fueled tensions, with some critics suggesting that anti-Tesla sentiment has escalated into direct action.
Demonstrations in Paramus
Unlike previous organized protests at the Tesla dealership, which were primarily focused on Musk’s business practices, Saturday’s gathering saw a stronger presence of pro-Musk supporters. Approximately 60 protesters demonstrated against Musk, while about 80 counter-protesters rallied in his favor.
Participants lined Route 17, waving flags and holding signs as passing motorists looked on. The demonstration remained largely peaceful, with Paramus police officers present to ensure order. Protesters largely refrained from direct confrontations with one another.
Political Figures and Support for Musk
Among those in attendance was Republican Billy Prempeh, known for his previous congressional campaigns in New Jersey’s 9th District. Many supporters of Musk and President Donald Trump praised Musk’s efforts to reduce federal government oversight and shift power to state and local authorities.
Vietnam War combat veteran Mark Del Maestro emphasized this perspective, stating:“What Musk is doing and what Trump is doing is making the federal government smaller and giving power back to the states. That’s why he’s eliminating the Department of Education on the federal level and giving it back to the states. Then that will come back to the communities.”
Gubernatorial Candidate Jack Ciattarelli was in Paramus to support President Donald J. Trump and the DOGE fight to end waste, fraud & abuse in our government & protect taxpayers!Ciattarelli said in a Facebook post, “The unhinged violence & harassment against Tesla hurts local jobs & is unacceptable. Let’s flip NJ red this November and bring NJDOGE to Trenton!”
Musk’s Response to Controversy
Amid growing scrutiny, Musk and members of his DOGE team recently sat down with Fox News’ Brett Baier to discuss their stance on government spending. They expressed confidence in identifying significant waste, fraud, and abuse in federal programs, potentially saving taxpayers trillions of dollars.
Meanwhile the fake news is having a field day attacking Musk, and debates surrounding Tesla and Musk’s role in politics continue, it remains to be seen how these tensions will shape future demonstrations and policy discussions.

I am glad the pro Musk folks showed up.
What is objectional to discovering fraud and waste unless you are a criminal benefiting from it
You referred to Trump as former President Trump. Does this show your support to the other side? this is the type of reporting that is America’s fed up with either your report what’s going on or you report your opinion about what’s going on?
typo , America Voted Overwhelming for Trump they can’t fire people in DC fast enough , the only people not fed up with the swamp in Washington are those who are on the payroll
Go Elon! Go Trump!
What the dems/libs refuse to acknowledge is that conservatives (repub) have a moral compass and they stick to it until or unless given proof they were wrong. And will humbly admit an error. The libbies insisted everyone must drive an electric car to “save the planet”. And now they hate the #1 selling electric car in the USA. And they claim to support “the working men and women”, yet in burning cars they are destroying something many working people are paying loans to purchase. And how about the 401K’s full of Tesla stock that the “workers” will be counting on for their retirement ? A few months from now they’ll just be on to the next “crisis”, leaving unemployed people in their wake.
Where is State Senator Holly Schepisi, Assemblymen Robert Auth, John Azzariti? It’s not their district but the support of President Trump and Musk would go a long way. This shows how short sited these politicians are!
Country is going broke! We are on the edge of financial collapse and while you may disagree with the administration’s approach, you cannot disagree with timing. Costs have to be cut asap with these levels of debt. It is also necessary to grow the tax base by means of economic growth. This is the strategy that will work. The alternative is a return to the 30’s.
Same for the Village. Unnecessary costs and extravagant purchases must be cut. DOGE efforts on the federal level are also needed by state and local governments.
Where were all the prior administrations?
we all appreciate the traffic tie-ups on 17
You know what I find interesting is let’s call spade of spade, it’s very interesting that the Trump supporters and Trump are supporting Elon musk and his businesses, now yes it comes to space technology on both for it electric cars I really don’t give two shits about, Are. They improving on them yes. But most Trump supporters are totally against electric vehicles. That’s a fact, correct, but now they’re supporting Tesla, and is it because he’s trying to save money or is it in involvement with other businesses, remember, he’s not an employee of the government is more of a advisor, which is OK, but they need to slow down a bit, because from day one there’s been a lot of backpedaling regarding employment first, you’re fired, then you lay off, then you brought back to work, then maybe we’ll do a government buyout, early retirement, And at all this no one‘s following labor laws.
you need to stop watching “fake news” and get educated , most Trump supporters didn’t like mandates, they still don’t ,and as for DOGE the government downsizing is happening as we speak despite the fake media pretentions that its not .
First of all, please proofread. This is nearly unreadable. Take a moment and read it over before hitting POST. Secondly, you made a point that “most Trump supporters are totally against electric vehicles”. Such nonsense. It’s not even close to being true. Then, another point, “no one‘s following labor laws.”? Seriously? Please, just think before you type. Perhaps broaden your news sources?
