Tesla Recalls 1.8 Million Vehicles Over Hood Latch Issue

Ridgewood NJ, Tesla is recalling more than 1.8 million vehicles due to a hood latch issue that could increase the risk of a crash. The recall affects 2021-2024 Model 3, Model S, Model X, and 2020-2024 Model Y vehicles. The problem lies in the hood latch assembly, which may fail to detect an unlatched hood after it has been opened. This can cause the hood to fully open while the vehicle is in motion, potentially obstructing the driver’s view and increasing the likelihood of a crash.

Tesla Crash Claims the Lives of an Ornamental Tree and Several Shrubs on Lincoln Avenue in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, a single vehicle late Friday afternoon, 06/07, crash at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Manor Road, Ridgewood destroyed a Tesla sedan and also claimed the lives of an ornamental tree and several shrubs. The adult male Tesla driver was uninjured in the mishap, which was allegedly caused when he swerved to avoid a slow moving vehicle that had cut in front of him. A flatbed tow truck removed the wreckage. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire/EMS responded to the incident.

Musk Says Tesla Optimus Robot should Cost ‘less than half of a car’

Ridgewood NJ, Elon Musk says that Tesla’s general-purpose humanoid robot Optimus, designed to take over repetitive tasks from humans, should cost less than half the price of a car. He has previously claimed that the demand for the robot could be as high as 10 to 20 billion units and that it would account for a majority of Tesla’s long-term value. There is no clear timeline for when the robot will begin production, but Tesla has been listing more jobs for its robot program lately, including positions related to supply chains and manufacturing.

Optimus Humanoid Robot Struts It’s Stuff

Ridgewood NJ, Tesla’s latest clip of its Optimus humanoid robot shows it smoothly walking around one of its testing facilities. The robot can currently walk at around 0.6 meters per second, a 30% speed boost compared to the robot’s last appearance. Tesla is aiming for the robot to be eventually able to walk up to five miles per hour.

Tesla Plans New $25K Electric Car For 2025

Paramus NJ, Tesla has told suppliers it wants to start production of a new electric vehicle in mid-2025. Codenamed ‘Redwood’, the next-generation vehicle is expected to drive a new wave of growth. Tesla has forecasted a weekly production volume of 10,000 vehicles. The new vehicle may be the entry-level $25,000 car that Elon Musk first promised to build in 2020. Tesla plans to make an inexpensive robotaxi based on the same vehicle architecture as the $25,000 electric car.

Trenton NJ, while Governor Murphy continues to push his all electric vehicle mandate ,Toyota’s Chairman and former CEO, Akio Toyoda, has been a vocal skeptic of the electric vehicle (EV) hype, which contributed to his stepping down from the CEO role earlier this year. With Tesla reporting disappointing third-quarter earnings, it seems that some investors are reevaluating the profitability of EVs. In an “I told you so” moment Toyoda said, “People are finally seeing reality.”

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police issued one (1) summons in connection with an early Tuesday morning, 10/17, motor vehicle crash in which the driver of a white colored Tesla lost control of her vehicle while driving westbound on Grove Street, Ridgewood, veered off of the roadway, and down an embankment. No injuries were reported in the mishap, but it took two (2) tow trucks more than one (1) hour to remove the Tesla from its predicament. Paramus Police assisted with traffic control while the prolonged removal process took place.

It was a surprising partnership between rivals, and on Thursday, General Motors said it struck a nearly identical deal with Tesla.

Teen Crashes Tesla Through Fence Tumbles Down Stream Embankment in Westwood

Westwood NJ, an 18-year-old driver crashed through a chain link fence and down a stream embankment after losing control of her Tesla sedan at the intersection of Mill Street and 1st Avenue, in Westwood late Tuesday afternoon, 05/23. Neither the driver nor her two (2) male passengers were injured in the mishap. Two (2) tow trucks were involved in recovering the white colored Tesla from its predicament. Westwood Police responded to the incident along with a Hillsdale EMS ambulance.

Tesla Hits Home in New Milford

New Milford NJ, Tuesday at 5:38pm City of Hackensack Fire Department received a mutual aid request from New Milford Fire Department for an occupied vehicle that crashed into a structure with entrapment at 495 River Road. Hackensack Deputy 1, Safety Chief, UASI Special Operations, Hackensack Shoring Unit and Hackensack Rescue 1 responded. Upon arrival units assisted New Milford Firefighters with extracting one victim from the vehicle. At 6:07 Deputy 1 reported victim was placed in the care of BLS for treatment and transport to local hospital. City of Hackensack units remained on scene to assist with shoring up the damaged area of the structure so the vehicle can be safely removed.

Tesla reduces prices for its car models sold in the US and Europe

Paramus NJ, Tesla’s latest slate of price cuts is a sign the company is getting more aggressive as competition heats up in electric vehicles, according to Wedbush analyst Dan Ives. Prices of the Model 3 and Model Y were slashed on Thursday, with discounts ranging from 6% to 20%.

Paramus NJ, Tesla has revealed a wireless charging mat inspired by its Cybertruck’s angled design. The mat supports Qi-compatible devices and can charge up to three devices at a time at 15 watts each. It uses a charging technology called FreePower that allows devices to be charged in any position on the mat. Tesla’s Wireless Charging Platform can be preordered for $300 and will start shipping in February.
