The contract was signed by former (thanks be to God) Village Manager Roberta Sonenfeld.
Is a single village able to sign off and approve a contract with this value by themselves ? No other approvals required?!! WTH?! Also who is performing internal control audits on this type of stuff? What is the market commission rate for this type of app at the time?!! Everyone but RIdgewood’s had them for years correct? Who submitted the pro-con analysis and comparirison of competitors and what did it say?
teach a man to fish free..( other people’s quarters ) and both of them (the Teacher and Student ) will learn to pick your pockets forever….Sad & quite maddening ..there was focus on this earlier major crime against the taxpayers as well…
Modern version of the quarter theft. Don’t just blame one “undisclosed” person. Many others had to notice the exorbitant amount being paid vs. revenue. Simple math.
Last I heard, we’d paid ParkMobile USA about $200k during the most recent 12 month period. That equates to $1 million of ParkMobile USA transactions in the Village during that 12 month period. Makes you realize how much of a cash cow the Village’s parking utility is. $1 million alone in app transactions. How much cash did we bring in from the meters and placard sales? I’ll bet the total parking utility revenue is close to $4 million. Now you know why the powers that be don’t want to take away the meters. Mo money, Mo money!
What a fucking embarrassment. And you can only wonder what dirt we’ll find out about next month.
An investigation of everyone at Village Hall who had any form of communication with Parkmobile is warranted. Check each and every email.
8:19 speaks for us all.so much for new governance….we are likely the laughing stocks of bergen county..Freeze all actions pending regarding Garagezilla,Parking both Coin, 2017 Parking Permits should be extended for three months through 2018 at no cost..and start the investigations..
Is the Village of Ridgewood required to have an independent audit? Are the audit results public information? Someone needs to look into this. Those numbers should be available.
Are you having another fun week Roberta?
5;20 .agree. Note previous wrecking crew..rare gift ,,that keeps on taking and taking…over and over again..shameless…throw open the lights…and discenfectants
Yesterday I went to Westwood, which has a lovely downtown with a movie theater, restaurants, post office, etc. I parked in a town parking lot and used the machine at the street side (where you’d have to go anyway) to pay. You type in your (clearly marked) parking space number, put the money in, and get a receipt. The cost was 25 cents for two hours, as it is for Westwood street meters. Why can’t we do that?
9:47 Because that would be a simple efficient way to handle the parking problem. We would also have to enforce the employee parking in these areas instead of maybe clearing out a few more spaces in front of their own stores to park. It might have to be a license plate number list of employees so their parking could be controlled. We already have such lists for overnight parking. The town would have to have employees checking these as they now do the overtime markings. Our police cannot/and should not/be responsible for this. Parking has never been under the police list of functions they are responsible for. Maybe (HA HA) some of our merchants could get together and pay any evening salaries?
