Reader asks when fully built out, could result in 500 – 700 new apartments. Why would the Ridgewood News leave out that information?
At this same meeting Blais said that this new high density zone, when fully built out, could result in 500 – 700 new apartments. Why would the newspaper leave out that information? What will happen once the language in our Master Plan is re-written to encourage more development at a higher density over a large area in our CBD? The vague recommendations of Blais, our town planner, will be permanently written into our Master Plan and any developer moving forward will be able to use that language to argue for higher density on their properties.
Perhaps the Ridgewood News should have more than one edition a week ?
I remember a popular “Sunday Edition” that had many other detailed stories and varieties.
Maybe we should ask them to consider returning to that improved news reporting opportunities for more new reporters.
How about a “Guest reporter for a day” opportunity ?
The Ridgewood News and its parent North Jersey Media have an agenda that clearly includes as much construction in Ridgewood as possible. They make Fox News look fair and balanced.
The Ridgewood news used to be a paper that was worthwhile reading when I grew up in town. Now they occassionally send a free copy in the mail. Theres really nothing worthwhile to read in it. The only thing of value to me is the real estate part so i can see what the ‘comps’ are asking for.
Could not bring self to attend Mr. Brancheau’s presentation because I was still depressed by his pathetic capitulation to Valley. Too many of those supposedly representing Ridgewood’s best interests, even those paid to do so, have failed us terribly.
North Jersey Media is a liberal propaganda machine that thankfully is dying a slow agonizing death at thè hands of electronic media.
agreed. Other than reading the obits in the record, most of it is of no use to me and its loaded with ads.
An earlier post read something to the effect “once Hackensack comes to Ridgewood, it’s Hackensack”. The high density housing will be full, but the stores will be empty.
If North Jersey Media , the Record and Ridgewood News want to do better in the electronic media age, they should charge for online reading like the New York Times and Washington Post. Ha Ha.
They won’t last long.
Their website is full of popup ads so its virtually unusable.
