” Fishbein was in cahoots with Sheila, and Mike is an emotional wreck. Fishbein knew that Sheila and Chris would vote no, and that Dani and Kwak would vote yes, and Mike would be the swing vote, Fishbein and Sheila lined up the public comments *(shame, knowing that Kwak and Dani were being thrown under the bus)* and they got Mike to vote with his emotions, unless he’s gone rogue and broke rank and had discussions with Fishbein/Sheila/Chris on the side, in total violation of open meeting laws. I cant for the life of me understand this, the man submitted his resignation, wrote a nice letter on the web site, and now the Board (speaks with one voice) tells him, no you can’t leave you MUST fulfill your contract, otherwise we will hold you in breech of contract, because that is what they did. Mike obviously did not understand this, otherwise why did he move to start a discussion on an interim superintendent, Mike, the Bd Chair did not understand what his vote even meant, he must’ve thought this was a vote of confidence, and that the resignation was still going to happen, No Mike! you voted to force Fishbein to stay, although he wanted to leave. Unless, that was the plan all along. Like Ricky said often to Lucy, you have some ‘splaining’ to do! Mike with your vote you impeded the progress of the district. The tell tale sign to all of this is simple, if Fishbein goes back to the Bd. and says hey Bd members, I really wanted to resign, I have plans, I’m taking the kids to Disney World, whatever, please reconsider and re-cast your vote so I can move on, then this was not a grand scheme, on the other-hand if Fishbein just goes back to work, and doesnt do that, then you know that he never intended on resigning and the whole resignation was a sham to try and stick it to the new Bd. It’s either one or the other.”
Next time, put the motion in big colorful pictures for Mr Lembo so he can understand what he is voting for…maybe Steve Kim can draw him a cartoon.
Not a person of color anywhere in the crowd of teachers and administrators; not a single, solitary one. What’s up with that?
So now, you want to turn this into a black or white issue. Give me a break!
they did not have a person of color in the crowd because there. aren’t any teachers of color in RPS. Look at the video posted by Somerville on their school opening plan. All teachers avatars look same.
All recruiting is probably hush hush from friends and family
It’s somewhat comical that Siobhan‘s facemask has the word “Vote” on it when she is one of the organizers of a group that’s trying to take away our right to vote.
Lembo voted to not accept Dan’s resignation. Many people called in to voice their support for whatever the board decided, so we have to respect their vote. They are elected volunteers, why are you singling them out like this?
At least the Village’s September 8th appeal of the OVOV decision failed. Now maybe we can get more voters out in November than in the sparsely contested April BOE elections.
There seem to be 2 reasons why Dr. Fishbein submitted his resignation. Same 2 reasons why Ms. Kelly is leaving. Fishbein isn’t in Kahoots with Sheila, she is just a long serving member of the board who has seen the positive impact of Dan Fishbein. If the 2 reasons were to be more like Sheila, and focus more on the betterment of education, without the “cheapest way possible” tag maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess.
What is the remaining duration in Fishbein’s Contract?
OK.
Back to normal.
The board is back in the hands of the Teachers and Administrators.
.
Don’t expect any progress, improvement or real educational improvement to the Ridgewood school system.
We will continue to slide academically (but will continue to advance on the indoctrination and propoganda front).
.
Get used to a lot of 3 – 2 votes and no real change.
.
Well played Fishbein.
Well played REA
Well played RW liberal indoctrination cabal.
.
Wrong for Lembo to keep Fish. Now Fish comes out as a hero and is a “victim” in the eyes of many and therefore he will yield a lot more power going forward. When I see his supporters and especially Siohabn I just feel like I want to run as far away as possible from RW. Can’t stand her by just looking at her picture.
Fish took position when RHS was ranked 7th in the state and also very high nationally. Now RHS is ranked 37th statewide and nowhere to be seen in national ranks. Just for this he needs to be FIRED. This is why we voted for this new BOE and kudos to Dani and Kwak for doing their job.
To the one who mentions teacher colors go screw yourself. Leave race out of this.
The Board also has to be held accountable, their oversight comes from the public. You can’t negate the fact that Mike started a discussion on an interim superintendent, watch the video, if he wasn’t stopped, he would’ve proceeded to talk about that selection. This can only mean that he thought his vote was maybe a ‘show of support’ and he did not realize that his vote meant that the board, by rejecting the resignation was telling Fishbein that we expect you to complete your term according to your contract, and if you resign we will hold you in breach. Breaching a contract is one of the worst things a public official an do. If Mike understood, he would not have started that discussion on an interim superintendent. You just can’t negate the fact that Mike started that dialog on an interim. What does that say? The fact that Sheila and Chris were voting one way, and Kwak and Dani were voting another way, is nothing unusual, but it is plain and evident , and Mike was the wild card. Now if Fishbein really was sincere in his resignation, he goes back to the Bd. and asks that he be released, then the Bd. can re-consider and floor a new motion to accept or reject his resignation, and now the Bd. will have to consider Fishbeins plea, if Fishbein goes on as normal, then the conclusion is he knew that his resignation would not be accepted, and he had Mike in his back pocket. The Bd. can be swayed by public comments, sure, but you still can’t negate one fact, that Mike started the discussion on an interim replacement, after he voted to reject Fishbeins resignation, that does not add up.
Lembo was played by Dan and Sheila. Read the body language at those meetings. Every time Dan is in trouble, he looks at Sheila and she protects him by deflating the topic.
Only handful of non teacher residents called in. Everyone else who called in was an admin, and they called because they were obligated to call by their union.
No riots or looting ? Thats strange.
Lunatics running the asylum.
Lembo is a member of the police union, wife is a member of a teachers union.
Any surprises here?
Oh, just one. Dani/Kwak-Kim thought that they had Lembo in their pocket- so much so, they even voted for him to be the President. Idiots.
Surprise, surprise, surprise. Unions are thicker than water.
I don’t see any social Distancing from the COVID hypocrites shuffling about outside Cottage Place.
I also don’t see any outrage over this behavior from the COVID police.
What a bunch of hypocrites.
I hope the other lady was not collateral damage in all this and genuinely wanted to resign/retire. Otherwise, looks like the Superintendent stays but no one is pushing back on her resignation and so it stands?
Unforced error by the new board members.
NJEA/Hackensack gave Fishbein a ‘win’ by letting RPS open, when it looked like it might not at all. This has temporarily garnered him some praise from parents. Given this background – it was politically inept to try and take on him when he was at his strongest. Parents are scared and frustrated, and very averse right now to big changes. When parents hear the current superintendent is resigning in the midst of a pandemic, and it will take 18 months to hire the next one – it terrifies them. You better have a really, really strong case against the superintendent to make that move, not minutae and bickering over small ticket items.
Read the room people! Calm the activist brain down and become more politically astute if you want to take on Goliath. Or expect to be chewed up and spit out by the machine.
abacaxi, she resigned because she doesn’t want to do dirty business that she is being asked to do by the administration.
Just look at the pictures of who was fawning all over Fishbein last night – Jeff Voigt, Gwenn Hauck, Siobhan Winograd, Stacey Loscalzo, on and on. The mob of haters. They are truly a nasty mob and Ridgewood you better watch out.
Can we put Hauck, Winograd and Loscalzo on their own island and let them fight it out?
News flash ladies: RIDGEWOOD DOESN’T WANT (OR NEED) YOU! YOU ARE IMPORTANT IN YOUR OWN IMAGINATION. MOST PEOPLE RECOIL AT THE VERY SIGHT OF YOU!
I hear they’ve got some free space at Gitmo…
Curious as to why 20 out of 22 people who commented chose to appear as Anonymous. Why do you choose not to take responsibility for what you say?
Kristen Plumley – People like to cast discredit on anonymous posters. There are many reasons that some wish to post anonymously. One of the main ones is fear of retribution, and if you don’t think this could happen you are wrong. It does happen. Anonymity allows for honesty. On Facebook people all post with their names, and many are very honest – but believe me, some who post one thing there post another here. They “pose” on FB for the crowd, and then get completely truthful on the Blog. The Blog provides a tremendous service for that reason. Elected officials even post here anonymously, most notable Jeffrey Voigt and Gwenn Hauck (and her previous husband).
