PJ: Have you viewed any of Pat Condell’s videos?

For a Brit, he’s pretty clear on the evils of tyrrany.

Here he demonstrates clearly that he must have visited Ridgewood in person at some point in the recent past, and that when he did, he enthusiastically imbibed the message of public civility imparted by our treasured public icons, the three amigos:

Pat Condell’s words: “When you’re imposing tolerance and respect on people, there’s no need to actually show them any. Just keep throwing mud until it sticks, because you’re up to your neck in double standards here, so you need to be extra vigilent against unwelcome opinion, which in your position can be more than inconvenient (if that wasn’t outrageous enough), it can be downright threatening.  So anyone trying to stir up healthy, rational debate should always be swiftly marginalized and crushed, in the spirit of reconciliation and healing.  And, if your conscience troubles you, just remind yourself that you’re doing the wrong thing for the correct reason, and you’ll be fine.”

Civility Forum – May 11th at 7:30PM

Rev. Jan Phillips will lead the discussion. Everyone is welcome to attend.

  1. May 11th Civility Forum will be about Sports in Ridgewood. The lack of common rules and standards and what can be done to promote civility among coaches, players, and parents. Please come!

  2. Yea, Ok

  3. Oh what a precious public utility our Mayor is foisting upon us with this unending series of tut-tutting meetings to distinguish that type of public expression which is civil, and therefore acceptable, versus that which is not civil, and must be marginalized and crushed.

  4. they need to go.

  5. Tut tut meetings, I love it.. Hilarious description, and so accurate.

  6. Religious leaders have no place in Village government-sponsored forums. PA-AP-GH gotta stop badmouthing other council members while telling us how to be nice. Are they kidding? The whole thing is off base and irritating beyond words. It has gone on far longer than expected and needs to stop.

  7. This series of meetings on civility will go down in Village history as the most blatant example of hypocrisy seen in decades. Or wait–the council meetings win the prize on that. Maybe a tie.
