On back to school night the RHS principal boasted that he has been all over the world and has never met the quality of education that RHS provides. I couldn’t believe my ears. I whispered to my wife “This guy is full of himself. We’re doomed”. Right there you have the answer for the RHS ranking woes. If right now we’re ranked 38th in NJ I bet next year we will fall below 50.
There are some teachers at RHS who are trying to reinvent the wheel with their teaching methods and basically just pose a problem to class without even giving lessons on it. So kids have to figure out where to find the info and study it by themselves. Teachers are not teaching and then we have to fork out $$$ for tutors. They are confusing and stressing these kids out with their “innovative” ways.
There are a lot of other teachers who really enjoy their work and are dedicated and I respect them. But I have a terrible feeling for the future when I think of where we are now and what will happen when the large buildings pop out across town.
I never thought I would consider moving but now it is seriously in my radar however painful it can be.
A few years ago, my daughter took Environmental Science (honors level course) at RHS. The teacher who had been teaching it had retired and someone new took it over. All she did was watched videos and fill out worksheets that listed websites that she needed to look at for additional information. I’d say 95% of those links were no longer functional. The entire course was a waste of time; literally, it was trash. When the teacher was contacted regarding the lack of teaching and learning, he basically said, “Hey, I’m new to this and you have to give me time to straighten out the curriculum.”
The villages so overrated, the school system is not what are used to bake. The village house at the light and services because of not replacing retiree ‘S With new employees. And yet our taxes are the same go figure.
I am already very tired of being expected to keep translating into English nonsense sentences sent on the fly from a cell phone with auto-correct.
Me to but it’s not a cell phone …it’s a classic Union slob on the village dole bitching about how their getting screwed as older workers are replaced by contractors. And as it should be. Parties over pal.
Expect economic boost to drug dealers hawking their poison to our young people and those poorer that will train into the Hudson street drive through..
Valley to deal with increases body counts.
