“I immigrated from Europe to the States and became a US citizen. I still think it was a great move on my part but I have started to have doubts about the worrying directions this country is moving in in recent weeks. I worry about the mindset of this country’s youth and young adults.”
There’s a very old, but wise, proverb “If the upper beams are not straight, the lower beams will go aslant.” Indeed, if society’s leaders set a poor example, the rest of society will follow. There is a clear absence of leadership on all fronts, these days. It’s almost as though the politicians, bureaucrats, and corporate exec’s are in on a secret, and it’s scorched earth and a race to the bottom.
It is sadly not just this country’s youth and young adults who are misguided, but a global virus propagated by the likes of George Soros and the liberal left, and perpetuated by the bandwagon elite, our so-called leaders . Why would’t our youth be outraged when they only have half of the essential facts that are being maliciously withheld from them?
Most of the youth you mention are taking a stand about what they believe is true, and have no idea that their actions are fueling harm against their own futures. The older generations who are old enough to know better are, at best, are practicing compassion without wisdom – stupidity. We shouldn’t blame the youth (those of whom are peaceful), but we should hold all of the political and corporate elders thoroughly accountable, for the Covid19 catastrophe, which was borne our of greed, and the equally harmful virus masquerading as “Social Justice”.
Well said Lawrence. Especially “compassion without wisdom” is a great fact in today’s reality. Most of today’s parents just go with their child’s feelings without trying to guide them. They believe any feeling is right and that children need to be supported about anything they feel. Parenting has gone to sh!.t. Thank God my children listen to my conversations and have naturally taken the right side to support. They know how to view and analyze facts and events and judge who’s right and who’s not.
Typical Ridgewood parent. My kids are special.
Step aside old timers. If you don’t listen to – and respect – young adults then you are part of the problem. These kids have grown up in the post-9/11 world that your generation has f$&@ed up BIG TIME.
They’ve dealt with terrorism, climate change, mass shootings in the very schools which they should feel are safe learning environments, and now they’re watching police murder citizens in broad daylight. You dealt with none of that as children.
They deserve our respect and admiration for thriving and asking for change in that environment. Oh, and rampant generational theft means your generation is stealing from younger wage earners to fund your lower capital gains taxes.
So maybe say thank you instead of acting like your views are relevant anymore? They’re most likely not judging by your “holier than thou” stance above.
ignorance and stupidity breed arrogance
“ignorance and stupidity breed arrogance”
….he said, arrogantly ignorant of any opinion counter to his own stupid one…..
Yes Just Sayin, you got it. Ignorance and arrogance should be on the town seal. The stupidity part stands on its own
Parents of this little sh$ts should do time and be made to pay for all the damages
typical Ridgewood snowplow parent always making excuses for you sub par spoiled offspring
If these kids can’t even ride a bicycle. Then what. Because They can’t walk across the street.
“They’ve dealt with terrorism, climate change, mass shootings in the very schools which they should feel are safe learning environments, and now they’re watching police murder citizens in broad daylight. You dealt with none of that as children.”
open a history book dope , Vietnam, D day, Peal harbor , watergate and on and on and on…………..
“They’ve dealt with terrorism, climate change, mass shootings in the very schools which they should feel are safe learning environments, and now they’re watching police murder citizens in broad daylight. You dealt with none of that as children.”
the scary part is that is ignorant uninformed silly fool actually believes this tripe ,
FYI in 1977 NYC had a black out, riots, 2 terror attacks . 658,147 serious crimes were reported and there were 1577 murders , and ladies and gentleman the “Bronx is burring ”
Goodness, look at all the triggered boomers.
You need a safe space, snowflakes?
Someone born in the last 25 years has seen 9/11, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the rise of ISIS out of those ashes, two massive economic meltdowns of historical proportion, an unprecedented global pandemic, climate change, the most polarised nation since the Civil War, school shootings, and abject greed by the elite 1% Boomers in this country who have stolen from wage earners to enrich themselves via lower capital gains taxes on the assets they’ve accumulated since the 1960s. To say the Boomer generation has screwed things up is an understatement. ‘Water Boy’ and ‘one mean hip dude’ above are two examples of this entitled arrogance. The fact young people graduating today virtually are thriving in such a screwed up world is to their credit. You should offer them your gratitude and admiration. Instead you act like the pigs you are. Oink!
“Someone born in the last 25 years has seen 9/11”, eventually your generation will have to contribute something , contribute being the operative word , as of now a big ZERO , talk all you want just a bunch of hot air ……………………….
These triggered boomers are hilarious! The U.S. military reported 58,220 American casualties in the Vietnam War… which your generation lost. COVID-19 has killed more then DOUBLE that and counting. Wake up snowflake!
the average age of death was 82 , most of which died because Murphy, Cuomo and Wolf dumped COVID19 patient on nursing homes
yes yes welcome back to the 1970’s ,now you are gonna learn the hard way
The hot air is from you Boomer. Must be indigestion or heart burn. Tried Tums?
