Planning and accident prevention are not brain surgery, yet we just can’t do it. Here’s hoping you will approach the council, BOE, Parks-Rec-Conservation Board, Streets Dept head, and anyone else who can control this before winter sets in and it becomes increasingly difficult for tree work to be done. They can always find money for their pet projects. For my increasing number of tax dollars I’d much rather have had an arborist identify potential problems and have the town pay to deal with it, even if it involved bringing in temporary workers, than lighting up Van Neste, say. Do we always have to wait until someone is hurt? Or a BMW?
Absolutely!!
Vc tried getting downs to do it years ago and it became apparent how expensive it was going to be. It’s cheaper keeping it in house. They had an arborist on staff the past 4 years until just recently in case you didn’t know.
Plus I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have full time tree crew then day Temps.
I hope you pay for insurance on that leased beemer.
I totally agree! We used to have 9 individuals working in the shade tree division. I believe now it is down to three. It isn’t enough. Staff is overworked and priority items like evaluating shade trees which are dying and/or in need of maintenance are now a danger to pedestrians and drivers alike.
Jeez, the moment I go somewhere that I like things turn south. Mover to RW last year and then faced the bullshit with Aronsohn. Now tress and wild animals are things that I love but unfortunately since a few months I see a rush of tree cutting all around town. It aches my heart when I see a tall huge tree being taken down because is in the wires way or for some other reason. Even worse when PSEG crews cut them in some horrible shape to make way for the wires. Some residents kill hundred year old trees for whatever benefit.
Regardless of trees can’t the power lines be buried underground?! They are an eye sore, dangerous when windy etc. You can’t find these type of overhung wires anywhere in even the poorest European country. Why does it still exist here?!
