Reader says I’m shocked that they haven’t paid the $1,000 back already.
I’m shocked that they haven’t paid the $1,000 back already.
For all of the Richie bashing that the public endured over a similar sum, one would imagine that at least Aronsohn, Puciarelli and Hauck would have paid up at the first hint of protest.
For a bunch of politicians, how politically unsophisticated these people are. The longer they hold out, the longer they’re going to have to endure the wrath and ridicule of their own constituency.
I can’t believe that these neophytes get to vote on a smoking ban much less on the more critical issues this town faces.
That seems like fair commentary …. perhaps, there will be a satisfactory response shortly…. give them a moment of two to figure out how.
Stay cool…
There really are no words to describe these three. When the mayor rambles on, month after month, in the Ridgewood News about all his fine accomplishments, it makes me shake my head. I want the Ridgewood News to publish a list of all the times he has messed up, and seriously. In one year he has created a trail of trash.
#1 – Hasn’t it been long enough already? And what constitutes a “satisfactory response” other than just admitting that they made a mistake and paying for their tickets? Their strategy always seems to be to say nothing, do nothing and hope the whole thing just blows over. How long do we have to endure this ineptitude?
So now we have residents who may have never done a darn thing in this town calling elected officials neophytes…..since when is being “politically unsophisticated” a bad thing? Most people consider “politician” to be a four letter word these days.
Four letter word: Paul?
#4 – Don’t assume that those who disagree with you “have never done a darn thing in this town”. And even if, one does not have to volunteer or run for public office to have the right or obligation to hold our elected officials accountable.
Aronsohn, Pucciarelli and Hauck are trying to run with the political big boys and are tripping over themselves every step of the way. Yes, neophyte is the right word here. Let’s just hope they come to their senses and do the right thing on the very important issues that we all face.
If I had been invited I would have paid 1,000 to see Christie. I am a registered Democrat.
#6….you should have included the word “may” when you quoted….and it’s a perfectly reasonable assumption. “Accountable” is an overused term these days….. people are elected to office to do the right thing based on their own independent judgment. The means to the end can cause some dustups but there’s really no tangible benefit in holding these offices other than a personal desire to do good. I think people often forget that fact. I do agree that you have every right to question their actions but too many people automatically assume there’s ill will when there is none.
#4 is the only rational response on this thread.
The amount of endless complaining based on made-up “facts” around here is astounding!
#9 – Have the Council members paid for their tickets or not? If they have not, they are perpetuating what could have been an easily correctable lapse in judgement. They could have acknowledged it and moved on. Don’t muddy the waters by claiming that people are making up facts.
