With the wheels now in motion for a year, officials say the Tri-Boro Shuttle, which provides a free roundtrip commute from the Ridgewood Train Station to the corporate office buildings in Park Ridge, Woodcliff Lake and Montvale, is starting to pick up some steam.

The councilwoman said this year’s tally, compared to last year has increased by at least 200 passengers in March, April and May to 409 in March, 467 in April, and 416 in May. 1. Assuming that it is primarily used on weekdays that is 20 passenger trips per day and if one assumes these 20 riders actually use the shuttle both ways that makes it 10 people a day. How much is it costing the taxpayers to provide free transportation to 10 people a day? I suspect we would be better off handing them taxi vouchers.
