“We have only met a small portion of our affordable housing. The massive downtown projects will be mulitiplied several times in order to meet the numbers. That is becuase of the way the council allowed the overbuilding to occur.
Going back to the original comment, i think it is vital that the council members clearly state their position and how they plan to represent us. Didn’t like Aronson, and thought he lied through his teeth, but he did speak openly about how he planned to turn Ridgewood into a city of multi-family homes, littered with parking garages and low end stores. And he had Pucc speaking up right next to him saying how he owed it to the Village to tear it down.
So, where does this current council stand?

We would like to do now with all brand new housing that’s being built how much more tax revenue will be coming into town. Because we know they’re going to hire more police and fire.
This council and the whole management crew is lacking so much experience. Time to clean out from the top straight down. This is just amazing. After 42 years in town this place is a joke. It’s not getting better it’s getting worse.
Comment number two. It was not set in stone before the new council. You need to learn the facts.
The new council hired lawyers to specifically derail the concerned citizens of Ridgewood’s lawsuit trying to stop the over development. They concerned citizens had sued the Village, Arohnson and Puccienlli.
The new council’s lawyers sided with the developers to fight the Village Citizens. A very small compromise was reached, but the damage was done in court by the lawyer handpicked by the new council lead by Mayor Knudsen. A much better compromise could have been reached, but the Village council dithered. Village attorney Rogers was conflcted out when the new council came in and they handpicked a political hack from another town to come in and completely undermine what the Villagers wanted done.
Go look at the facts and report back to us – – and be prepared to apologize to the rest of us for mis-stating the facts. We were betrayed by the new council – – there is no other way to describe what they did.
The real question is what are they doing to us now?

This Council had a chance to modify the prior Council’s poor decisions. It chose not to. And Habernickel is still a for profit use of land bought by the Green bills that declared no for profit organization could legally use land purchased with those funds. Our council won’t even consider that it is an illegal use heavily supported by the town of Ridgewood–water bills for the sprinklers that Ridgewood installed, electric bills for lights that Ridgewood installed, lawn care by Ridgewood, etc. etc. We even provided generators during the last major power outage so she could continue using her profitable commitments for the weekend–while residents and other businesses had no power at all.
