the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, resident Steve Kim sums it up the best on the Ridgewood Library ReImangine :
“Reimagined Ridgewood Library will have…
Less usable floor space than now.
Teen center will be a fraction of staff space next to it.
The kid area will not expand.
Book collection will merely be the same.
So…
What’s the benefits of spending $7.6 million and living through disruptions for 18 months?
Oh, and the grant isn’t a sure thing… and $6.8 million is eligible, so max of $3.4 million in grant $, not $4 million. And we’d be lucky to get $3.4 based on indications.
Get the facts. “
Irony: Voigt and Walsh claim the Library is a reason why they moved here. Library Trustee is asking Steve Kim to leave town
If he is going to analyze everything and find holes in process and issue with people, why doesn’t he run for these committes? Just sounds like noise otherwise. There are several positive changes, but he never mentions them, mostly negative and disruptive to people’s family and trying to get everyone fired throughout ridgewood community instead of helping
its called Math
Irony? Isn’t the reason most people moved to Ridgewood is for the services? Why would you be holding that against them??
Does the library have any count of out of town users, teachers, other business men who utilize library space to work at their own businesses? We’re going to expand for many many users other than Ridgewood. It would be nice if they could post how many non-Ridgewood users the library has and how many others just work there on their own businesses.
The entire project is a disruptive, useless boondoggle that we do not need and cannot afford. Further expansion in the flood zone would be a huge mistake. Hurricane Sandy brought floodwaters right to the steps of that building. It could easily have been flooded and next time it probably will be.
Fools, fools, we are all fools.
He just loves to stir the pot. If things are so bad, why live here?
When Jeff Voigt said that he moved to ridgewood because of the library, I thought we should nuke the library on the spot.
“If you want to be heard, run for office” sounds a lot like the mantra of Aronsohn et al. Some of whom sit on the library board. Hmmmm.
