REMINDER: SANITATION COLLECTION IN SNOW OR ICY WEATHER

As a reminder on days when snow or ice is forecast, residents will be required to bring their garbage cans to the curb for collection. VOR staff will only pick up garbage and recycling at the curb in snow or ice conditions. Ice condition is when ice is present in driveways and sidewalks. Due to numerous slip and falls today by Sanitation staff (some requiring Hospital visits) if your driveway was not clear your garbage has not been collected and should be placed on the curb for Friday.

  1. Oh boy better hire more DPW workers.

  2. Why not have curbside pickup all the time?

  3. I don’t know. Why don’t you ask the question at the next Council meeting.

  4. jjj the council discussed that back in the 90’salong with closing the west side firehouse It was one of Grubb’s ideas, it stirred up a hornets nest unrivaled until the last valley expansion.

Why not have curbside pickup all the time?

Because we don’t live in Waldwick. It looks like shit too.

  6. Why don’t they send out the email and update their website when they have deemed that there will be no rearyard pickup? Give us a heads up.

A couple of weeks ago they skipped my street for our usual ~9:30 pickup because it had started snowing. The accumulation and ice did not start for a few hours. Will they always quit for flurries? Do the sanitation workers pick up leaves and plow snow or do they get to sit in the garage?

  7. Didn’t Mayor Paul Aronsohn promises better communication during his re-election campaign. He is in a neck to neck race with our president when it come to lies.

  8. #5 it does not look any worse than your recycling or yard waste and if you take the time to look around you will see a large amount of homes doing this already. Being done on both sides of town.

  9. Disparaging other towns does not make Ridgewood seem nicer, it just makes some residents seem crass.

A few niceties about Ridgewood vs ‘other towns’:
We get our garbage picked up in the rear.
We don’t park our cars on the lawn.
We don’t park cars on the street overnite. (to allow our DPW 5 workers to sweep, plow snow, and remove leaves)
We don’t park motor homes on the property.
We don’t park boats on the property.
We don’t operated businesses from home.
We don’t park commercial vehicles on residential property.
    We don’t allow peeling paint.
    We don’t allow overgrown vegetation.
*yes a few lazy inconsiderate folks leave recycling containers out and its gross*
All of the above are protected by ordinances which contribute to the quality of life in this town.
None of this is going to change to accommodate our new temporary residents.

  11. #10. Fixated on parking?

There are a lot of nice towns. “My dog’s better than your dog” is cute for young children but strange for an adult. I don’t understand the competition that you are in with other towns. I have friends in Waldwick, Wyckoff and Glen Rock and I would be embarrassed to have them see your post. They may think that all Ridgewood residents are narcissistic.

I had better check my paint before I get reported.

Yes do check your paint. Nobody wants to live next to a dump.
We have rules here. They keep the town nice due to inconsiderate name callers like yourself.
No reason for the Village to lower its standards to accommodate you. Do us a favor, move to one of the aforementioned towns and enjoy the view of the upside-down garbage cans, along with the trash that blows around on trash day.
This used to be a nice place before you temporary types moved in with your piss poor attitudes and name calling. I guess that 5 percent down mortgage did the trick for you.

  13. #12 check your meds and deflate your ego. You live in NEW JERSEY!

And you are such an angry person. You must be the one who posts constantly about the fall of western civilization due to slow leaf pickup. Now that your unemployment has run out you are going to have less time to post.

  14. We have rules here and very few of them are enforced including cars on lawns, over nite parking, motor homes, boats on property, commercial vehicles in driveways, over grown weeds. Strongly suggest you stop looking at the world with rose colored glasses and open your eyes.

The Village isn’t going to ‘dumb down’ to accommodate you dopes.
Go put your vinyl siding on and your pink ducks just like your trailer park which is apparently your socioeconomic ‘level’.
And enjoy the EBT card that you milk from the taxpayers.

The rules are here for a reason.
If you like cars on lawns and boats in yards, move to midland park.
You new people are doing your best to destroy this town.

  17. Right on #16

    Snob

  19. just put your cans at the end of your drive way and no one will have any problems.
    and not in the street.
    come on.

  20. and do remove them if it snows so the plow trucks can plow your street.

  21. To #’s 19+20 your posts are right on, this begs the question, how come a message, or idea, this simple is so difficult to get across?

  22. #15. That supposed insult sounds well rehersed. I am not hurt by what you said. Your anger is eating away at you and you can’t control it. I feel sorry for you.

Because too many of the residents are inconsiderate and lazy. Simple as that.

  24. to #23 it’s sad to say your absolutely right.:(
