Ridgewood adds new ambulance to its EMS fleet

THE RECORD
RIDGEWOOD — The village’s Emergency Medical Services division has acquired a new ambulance, officials said.
The ambulance is a 2015 Ford F-450 4WD chassis, and will cost the village $184,266, officials said.
Ridgewood owns three ambulances, including its newest rig.
The village traded in an older ambulance — a 2000 Ford E-450 chassis — as part of its latest purchase.
“Extensive research was performed by our Emergency Services Department to decide upon the type of ambulance that would best suit our needs,” said Village Manager Roberta Sonenfeld.

Hope they use it to transfer patients to Valley and not Hackensack.
Approval on ambulance purchase has been delayed due to lack of funding. Had the reporter been at this week’s VC meeting he would have known. No new ambulance yet.
“Lack of Funding” Thats just great. This Council can find money to spend on their pet project but something that all Ridgewood resident can use get put off.
Maybe the Record reporter ought to actually show up for meetings, seriously, this is a no brainier. Does his editor think that Chris Harris comes to the Council meetings? We know he is in our mayor’s pocket, but maybe he should poke is head out of Paul’s pocket to actually pay attention.
Just the facts PLEASE.
Your right #4 . He shows up when the Mayor summons him because of some controversy or the Mayor what some face time.
How could there lack f funding? What is the Council doing with a the insurance money that being collected
He is told in advance what to say , he dosnt need to show up
I would much rather spend money on just about anything besides a 4th ambulance. What is the possible justification? There are tons of towns nearby that have ambulances so if there is a big accident and you need 10 you can get them. I cannot imagine there are many occasions when more than 1 ambulance is in use at any one time.
Hey Brian did you even read the article? Try reading it again…
The rigs in use are sufficent for the towns use…..this is a classic example of pissing cash down a rat hole so the boys and girls have a new toy to play with….190k
Toy no less…. Same equipment can be had for 130/135….taken to the cleaners.
I would rather have a state of the art ambulance if I or my family need it. More important than a parking garage.
I’d rather have nice equipment so there are plenty of volunteers to operate it.
Or we can have a few old pieces of shit and get stuck hiring a full staff of union represented emts and paramedics and our taxes go thru the roof.
#12, so your saying that if the town doesn’t have nice ambulances there won’t be any volunteers that’s a nasty indictment of the volunteers in this town. #12 like it or not the ambulance is already staffed by union members, the firemen and cops, work it until 7pm and the cops respond
the cops respond on all ambulance calls 24/7, the paramedics come out of valley and are not part of the village employee roster get your facts straight.
Very true 13…..and that is where the service is going anyway….24/7 manned by a contractor. Volunteer?
For the ungrateful slobs in Ridgewood?
Been there done that…….NEVER AGAIN.
