Ridgewood NJ, during the past years there has been a noticeable decline in the reliability of cash machines ie ATM machines for Bank of America customers in Northern New Jersey. While the Ridgewood CBD Branch often has outages, both Oradell and Pamaus are also plagued by frequent downtime.
For the purposes of this article, the Ridgewood blog has defined frequent as at least twice a week.
While bank customers who commute to New York City have a plethora of cash machines available, New Jersey customers are not so lucky. The unlucky Bank of America customer could end up being forced to drive all the way to Hillsdale from Ridgewood due to the fact that the few local cash machines are all down at the same time. Or they are forced to use a different institution’s ATM and suffer higher fees.
Some readers have suggested that this is a blatant attempt by the bank to force debit card purchases in order to better monitor customer movements, while others say cost cutting is to blame.
Out of order cash machines are an extremely rare event in New York City but have become all to common for north jersey residents.
The Hohokus branch is great!
That Branch has rampant Up selling of every credit product BOA PROFITS FROM and will discuss your net worth at the public counter while other customers wait and listen to your private financial information ,
delaying theirs and your service needs .Poor teller tried to act like a professional
while the Boa Ridgewood Managers wait to swoop down on you to upsell you another line of credit or unneeded BOA REFi.was not like this five years ago.I am a BOA CUSTOMER
Change banks… I think there are one or two other banks in Ridgewood, but I’m not 100% sure.
You can just say no! I’ve been doing that for years.
Looks like they have new managers in the office now. Even if the old manager did up sell every chance she got, she was nice.
A card was stuck in the ATM today…at least 45 minutes. Nobody was in too much of a hurry to get it fixed. I think they want people to come inside….
B of A is doing the same crap as Wells Fargo…and so is Capital One, Chase and all the other top 10 banks. It’s just a matter of time b4 the other shoe drops. If you think their doing ANYTHING different than what Wells was doing your crazy. Their scumbags just like wells!
I have been a customer of Bank of America for over 30 years (Citizens). Just as bad as the ATM machines are, the Ridgewood branch has a constant shortage of tellers. It’s sad to go in to that large building and find one teller on a busy Saturday with 10+ people waiting. Adding to that insult is the upselling of needless services. I don’t see that in HoHoKus or Glen Rock so I’m guessing it’s the managers fault.
Brilliant 8:11…. You sound like the proverbial Ridgewood resident. 30 years of getting your ass kicked and you STILL go back. Really? And anyone wonders why we have a 100 million dollar school budget?
