Public Vote on Full-day Kindergarten
Tuesday, November 8
Regular polling locations
6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

This full-day Kindergarten question is located at the bottom of the ballot:
RESOLVED, That there shall be raised an additional $929,800 for General Funds in the 2016-17 School Year. These taxes will be used to employ additional personnel and to acquire additional equipment and supplies in order to implement the District’s full-day Kindergarten program. Approval of these taxes will result in a permanent increase in the District’s tax levy. The additional taxes authorized herein will be used exclusively for purposes described herein and to finance expenditures that are in addition to those necessary to achieve the Core Curriculum Content Standards.

  1. I think what’s not understood here is that parents are going to have to pay out of pocket for the extra hours in the afternoon….

  4. NO ! ADDTIONAL $1 MILLION EVERY YEAR MEANS ADDITIONAL TEACHERS SALARIES AND BENEFITS INCLUDING RETIREMENT BENEFITS, EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES FOREVER! ADDITIONAL SCHOOL TAXES INCREASE FOREVER. VOTE NO!

  5. These folks can’t even manage the existing (huge) budget… so lets give them more $$ and more responsibility.

    Don’t worry… the KHSA (full day Kindergarten Home School Association) will start begging for money the day after a Yes vote, “to support the full day K teachers and provide enrichment for the full day K kids”…

  6. Of course the BOE wants full day K – it gives them anther million dollars a year of other people’s money to play with. Vote NO
