  1. That’s one thing not to be proud of. Especially for an overrated town as of Ridgewood. Definitely not a town to retire in. That’s why you always see about 100 homes for sale on the market at all times. I plan to sell move out see you

  2. There is no one with Finance knowledge @ council or Village administration.
ALL SENIOR Village Staff (department heads), lives outside the village. They themselves don’t need to pay the increased tax.

There is not enough will power / knowledge to control increasing taxes.

  3. Congratulations to all who helped with this significant achievement. If we build a garage, our chances of being a top 10 taxed community is a sure bet.

  4. In the case of Ridgewood, you get what you pay for.

  5. Then why are the streets/roads in such poor shape?

  6. Don’t forget the 1 mill dollar school budget

  7. 2:23pm the high school has an alumni association now from where they can raise the money.

  8. 2:23 add two zeros

Try 100 Million Large each year !!

  9. Municipal property taxes are going much higher with this current Council running things. Sue’s got her kids to pay for, and Bernie’s never seen a permanent tax increase “for contingencies” that she didn’t like… add in the most expensive police department in the country per officer, and our out of control BOE and we’ll crack the top 10 in the next five years.

  10. Camden has the lowest property taxes in the state. Feel free to take advantage. No one living in Ridgewood would relocate to any of the low tax towns listed. The services are non-existent with added costs for trash removal sewers and most have septic systems. Most have very high crime rates and lower educational standards. Any bloggers posting here calling for a moving van? doubt it.

  11. 6:00pm May 27, 2009 the municipal tax rate increase in 2009 was 3.84%. councilman carpet bagger Aronsohn was mining the store. Not Knudsen, Sedon or Walsh. Muni taxes flat with Knudsen and Sedon.

  12. 6:00pm all data for councilman aronsohn 2008 6.67%, 2009 3.66%, 2010 4.79%, 2011 6.84%, 2012 3.15%. Then there’s the slight of hand 0% costing Village biggly in the long run.

  13. 11:16am seriously? Your barking up the wrong money tree. Boe spends all the money with zero checks and balances and board members running unopposed for years. Brogan has been sitting stagnant for decades with her only contribution to increase taxes 5%, 6%, 5.5% 7% for years until the state cap. Even then getting an increase over the cap to fund all day kindergarten. Yikes! 67% tax dollars to an unchecked BOE.

  15. 7:41pm and 6:43pm

Stop giving these arguments for your failures.

  16. Apples to oranges. BOE is a big nut. When is the election for them and why do they run unopposed!

  17. The articke is apples to oranges. BOE is a big nut. When is the election for them and why do they run unopposed!

  18. Nice misinformation 7:06pm. Those municipal tax increases far exceeded BOE increases from 2008-2012, and were perpetrated by a Council majority led by financial neophytes Killion, Riche and Walsh. In fact, they always voted for permanent municipal tax increases to pay for ‘one-time” contingencies. Haven’t seen those taxes reduced despite no contingencies?

  19. It’s amazing that we pay taxes and to Bergen County and Burton County roads of foreign port in this town. Wine so many other towns Bergen County roads are in great shape. Someone from engineering needs to call the Bergen County Commissioner and tell them to get their cruise out repairing these roads . Enough already.
    Thank you

    1. wrong county roads are total crap
