Ridgewood NJ, on Wednesday night the Ridgewood council voted to appropriate $1.6 million of Ridgewood Water funds to go forward with the purchase of the former Elks Lodge on Maple Avenue .
The council voted 3-2 in favor of the purchase with Councilman Jeffrey Voigt and Councilwoman Bernadette Walsh casting dissenting votes.
The appropriation, comes less than a month after a NJ Superior Court judge ruled against the village of Ridgewood in a lawsuit, finding that it had approved “capricious” and “unreasonable” rate hikes between 2010 and 2012.
No estimate was given as to how much will it cost to renovate that space or what is going in Ridgewood Water place at Village Hall.
People to 1.6 million is small potatoes. You just wait another 2 to 5 years with the village has plans to build. 98 percent of you have no idea. The plans the blueprints all set to go. Just the top managers are not talking. They have plenty of money. and even if they don’t have any money they will borrow the money there for AAA but on reading repairs to the taxpayers money why keep a lot of money in the bank screwed spend it
Roads Are Crap..throwing pearls to swine attitude..look it up..
Its for the PAC en green medley socials…can’t park tho without Garazilla…
The village is a terrible landlord. They own the gate house at habernickel and have NO idea how to keep that business in check. Or maybe they just don’t care to as long as they collect rent!
Was’nt 111 the ELKS club address foretold in the exorcist ?.perhaps we need to call in the clean up crew to extract the mental demons and all this
sumner special spending…like truckloads of Lard onto the taxpayers backs..Zero Accountability..and yet they keep raising an unwanted Hudson Street raised Garage that no one without a rental platt blueprint wants built…Pave the main roads ,pave cottage and chestnut lots
bulldoze the Town Garage as a hazardous unkept abandoned property.send them the Bill.VC do your job..
I think it’s interesting that Village Hall was a former Elks lodge too! Village moved in there in 1955. I believe there was a court case about it.
This is a disgrace. The Water Company is the most mismanaged department in town they don’t need their own space we spent millions on the Village Hall Shrine complete with spiral staircase and marble floors. There is zero reason for this. This mayor and council are out of control with unnecessary spending that is of no use to taxpayers.
This is all about the RPD getting a bigger HQ at Village Hall, a possible quid pro quo for hiring the Mayor’s sons?
RPD Needs bigger digs. lots of crime on that Block..where the most dangerous library crosswalk is ignored..24 x7
