Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Fire personnel from “C shift quickly extinguished a structure fire at a single family, split level home in the 400 block of Race Track Road late Wednesday afternoon, 02/05. No injuries were reported in the blaze; all occupants were able to safely evacuate prior to the arrival of Fire Department personnel.
The fire reportedly started on the first floor and spread to the second floor of the home. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood EMS also responded to the incident. The home sustained light to moderate fire, smoke, and water damage.
another job well done. i hope everyone realizes how valuable having a paid fire department is. those extra minutes in response time can mean the difference between a minor fire and a disaster…

One of the main reasons i live here. Paid dept. Fast response time. My ancient parents live here and the FD shows up there with the ambulance people too. In the towns with volunteer FD they usually manage to ‘save the foundations’ (assuming the volunteers dont cause a car accident speeding to the fire house) So 2 taxpayers properties in town.. mine and my parents… neither with children is schools… glad to pay for a professional fire dept while subsidizing the school budget
Yes it’s Our tax dollars at work. That’s what we pay for. But the body balm and need some kind of water apparatus boat which they never received remember 1999 Storm Floyd.
