Ridgewood NJ, The high density housing issue is upon us again. The Village Council will be meeting tonight at the Campus Center of the Ridgewood High School. They will discuss the results of the impact studies for high density housing. Hopefully the most important study, the impact on our already overcrowded schools, was done. Residents need to once again come out in force to express their strong desire to keep this the Village of Ridgewood and not the City of Ridgewood. The council should either change, lower, the amount of apartments allowed at these locations or vote “no” completely.
The Village Council Meetings of March 9th and March 23rd will be held at the Campus Center of the Ridgewood High School, located at 627 East Ridgewood Avenue. The March 9th Regular Public Meeting will begin at 8:00 p.m., and will be immediately followed by a Work Session, where the results of the impact studies for multi-family housing will be discussed. The March 23rd Work Session meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. During the Work Session there will be a Special Public Meeting for the Public Hearings and vote on the multi-family housing ordinances as well as a public hearing and vote on the bond ordinance to appropriate money for the Hudson Street parking deck.
This location is not equiped to broadcast the meetings. The meetings will be filmed and available both on UTube and the Village Public Access Channel (Cablevision 77; Fios 37) the following day.
build it big. oh yeah.
Let’s see how much damage the outgoing trio can wreak on our fair village.
They could do a lot in the next 4.5 month. Tonight meeting on housing will tell the tale.
This is pretty scary – the Council majority have officially been run out of town before the election and now have until July to do what they want. Look for very tall buildings with their names on them. Kind of reminds me of a certain candidate for Persident.
No worries 6:45 the Chamber of Commerce and developers will push their candidates into office so the can continue the legacy of the 3 Amigos.
We have to get new Planing Board member appointed. Get rid of Village Employees that are on that Board that do the VM bidding. And never and I say never reappoint Big Al the Developer Friend to any board and that goes for his Health Barn lawyer friend.
Cannot wait to see the above apartment on the sight of Brogan Cadillac, it will certainly do wonders for the village.
9:18am-
Here are the renderings for the proposed development on the Brogan lot:

I believe drawings were made for 40 units per acre. So scale would be a touch smaller at the proposed 35 units per acre. (I’d rather see ~24 units per acre personally. 35 is a lot bigger than Ridgewood has seen before.)
