Ridgewood is known for having a fair number of residents working on Wall Street – and for both profiting and struggling because of it.

In its ranking of highest-earning towns, Money Magazine noted that Ridgewood has a long history of being home to successful financiers from New York, dating back to the early 1900s. Meanwhile, since the financial crisis, the struggles of Ridgewood residents who used to work in the financial sector have been profiled by Bloomberg News and The New York Times.

It seems fitting that “Buying In,” a new fictional book about the financial sector and the 2008 crisis, has been written by a 1999 Ridgewood High School (RHS) graduate and former Wall Streeter.
