Ridgewood NJ, At sunrise today, a group of Ridgewood High School Alumni Association (RHSAA) trustees, friends and family members as well as Superintendent Dr. Tom Gorman (RHS ’87), Bergen County Commissioner and former Mayor Ramon Hache (RHS ‘91) and recently named RHS Principal, Jeff Nyhuis, all came together to hang 436 maroon and white senior banners in honor of you, class of 2021! These RHS 2021 banners donning our new “R” were hung throughout our beautiful Village to highlight, to recognize and to celebrate each member of the RHS Class of 2021.
As former RHS students, we want to officially welcome you as the newest alumni into our ranks. The entire Class of 2021 has proved that the RHS motto, “Tradition of Excellence” is thriving, enduring and resilient.
Between now and Graduation Day, we hope that you will walk through Ridgewood to locate your banner, take a photo, share with family and friends and post on social media (#rhsalum21). The banners are our gift to you.

Banners have been randomly hung on fences in high traffic areas at RHS (facing East Ridgewood Avenue), BF Middle School (facing Glen Avenue), Graydon Park (facing both Linwood and Maple Avenues), GW Middle School (on Monroe Street facing Citizens Park) and Citizens Park (facing Monroe Street and Godwin Avenue) and will remain hanging through June 30th. Anytime after this date, you are welcome to take your banner home as our gift to you.

We are so proud of this year’s graduates, a community of young, vibrant, creative, enthusiastic, talented and compassionate young adults. We also want to wish you all the best in your future endeavors, whether college/university bound, engaging in the workforce, traveling, or still deciding on plans moving forward.
Congratulations, RHS Class of 2021.

This looked good last year and it looks good again this year. We should make it a tradition.
Too bad we focus on these self-congratulatory niceties rather than do the heavy lifting required to stop the academic freefall and raise Ridgewood from 36th position in the state back to a top 5 or even top 10 school…
I was a 1968 graduate of Ridgewood High School and found it a very challenging experience, but a very good experience for a secondary education…it also helped when applying for colleges to be able to say I was a graduate of RHS…WISHING TGE CLASS OF ‘21 all the best going forward!
