Ridgewood Nj, a Thursday morning collision on South Maple Avenue in Ridgewood left a Honda Accord driver injured and caused significant damage to the vehicle, according to local authorities.
Crash Details
The incident occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. in the 300 block of South Maple Avenue. A black Honda Accord collided with the rear of a stationary and unoccupied large box truck.
Driver Injuries
The driver of the Honda sustained a non-life-threatening leg injury and reported chest discomfort caused by the airbag deployment. Ridgewood Fire Department and EMS transported the driver to The Valley Hospital for medical treatment.
Damage and Response
While the box truck’s power lift gate was rendered inoperable due to the crash, the truck remained drivable and left the scene under its own power. The Honda Accord, however, required removal by a flatbed tow truck.
Traffic and Legal Impact
The Ridgewood Police Department responded to the scene and issued a summons to the box truck’s driver. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
