RIDGEWOOD, NJ โ As the new school year approaches, the Village of Ridgewood is taking extra steps to enhance pedestrian safety. Village Manager Keith Kazmark announced that new pedestrian-activated crosswalks have been installed at E. Glen Avenue and Northern Parkway, a busy intersection often used by students and families.
โMany thanks to Lucas and Dave from our Signal Division who are installing the new pedestrian-activated crosswalks today,โ Kazmark said. โWe are working every day to enhance pedestrian safety and keep our residents safe.โ
With more children walking to school and increased traffic on Ridgewoodโs streets, local officials are urging both drivers and pedestrians to stay alert.

I swear this council wakes up every morning and asks itself how can we waste more residents’ tax dollars. don’t think they care about safety one bit! it’s all kickbacks and friends with contractors and you know it what time is the photo op scheduled for?
Youโre the kind of dolt that would cut off their own nose to spite their own face. The VC could cure cancer and you morons would still find cause to bitch. Itโs a traffic light. Itโs a good idea around here. Itโs going to remove the power for dummies like you to make the kinds of assaholic decisions that are behind the unbelievable amount of accidents in this town.
How about trimming trees and shrubs around intersections and crosswalks that would be a big help, you know how many shrubs and trees need to be pruned around stop signs
But Your Honor it was the shrubโs fault.
I love this, but how about Ridgewood police presence in the vicinity of schools during pick up and drop off times? Police pulling over a couple cars per week would do so much to slow people down, change what has been bad behavior that has become the norm.
Thumbs down on pruning around stop signs really, you must be a real idiot.
Was at this intersection today heading west on glen, stopped to turn left onto Northern Parkway. A very young boy pressed the signal and started crossing with rest if family when some douchbag in red Toyota corolla passed me on the right. Luckily the groul crossong had not gotten to my car yet. Flashing crossing signals are great, people not paying attention should be deported
