Ridgewood-NJ-December 13, 2025: Members from the Ridgewood Knights of Columbus Council #1736 met on Saturday morning, December 13, at the Hawthorne train station to deliver over 100 toys to the U.S. Marines as part of the Toys for Tots program. The Knights waited anxiously and patiently on the frigid morning for Operation Toy Train to pull up at 10 a.m., led by Santa. “This is one of the major charitable events that we conduct in the fraternal year”, said John Walicki, Grand Knight of the Ridgewood council. “We express our thanks to Mike Puzino, who organized the toy collection”, said Walicki.

The Toys for Tots program is run by the U.S Marine Corps Reserve, which distributes toys to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. It was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks.
