Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood ladies flag football finished the season 11-0. The program is now 20-1 all-time in two years of existence.
The Jets sponsored flag football as a club sport in North Jersey for the last three years. The NY Jets had the players measured for rings after their victory celebration, and the girls received their championship rings at the end of the 1Q of the NY Jets preseason game vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! QB Katie Bisgrove represented the team as the honorary captain during the coin toss at Metlife Stadium .
Ridgewood won the New Jersey girls flag football state championship with a 47-6, over Hillside. The game was played at the Jets training center.
“Ridgewood flag football is here to stay,” Maroons coach Michael McDermott told North Jersey Media . “We’re proud of what we did. This isn’t just big for our girls. Its big for our community and our town. We are developing a girls flag football league for our town – females only. We want to promote it.”
