In direct response to concerns raised late last year and during the first two months of 2013, the Ridgewood governing body is moving forward with a standardized procedure that formalizes the means and methods of communication among council members, specifically regarding meetings.

The Village Council is preparing a resolution that would establish the Ridgewood Council Meetings Communications Protocol, an internal set of guidelines that regulates the way elected officials interact with one another and members of the public inside and out of meetings.

Councilwoman Bernadette Walsh did not attend the April 10 council meeting, so the governing body opted to push back the vote on the resolution. A special public meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, when the governing body will consider the resolution.

  1. more bull shit .

  2. It’s amazing that we need to establish a protocol so that the 3 of our council people that vote in a block actually have to include the two that they voted off the island. Now when Hauck/Pucciarelli/Aronsohn have their secret meetings with the builders they have to actually bring the other council people into the loop. Good job guys.

This is right up there with Ridgewood’s gun control policy in terms of stuff our elected officials should not have to waste their time on.

  3. Voters disagree with Walsh and Riche. That’s why they voted for the three other councilpeople.

The fact that only a few people in town agree with Boyd and Ron is no reason to overrule the will of the voters as expressed in the last election.

  4. The problem here is when two of the five hobnob with contractors and interested parties in private, then get a third to rubber stamp what they decided to do. Walsh is sticking up for the letter as well as the spirit of the sunshine law.
