Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47 is mourning the loss of retired Captain Stanley Riker, who passed away on his 93rd birthday. Captain Riker was a beloved member of the Ridgewood Fire Department and a lifelong resident of the community.
A Life of Service and Dedication
Captain Riker joined the Ridgewood Fire Department in 1959 and dedicated 25 years of service before retiring as Captain in 1984. His legacy spans decades, both in the firehouse and the broader Ridgewood community.
Before serving the Village of Ridgewood, Riker proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. A graduate of Ridgewood High School, Class of 1951, Stanley was deeply rooted in the town he protected.
A Life Well Lived
Following his retirement, Captain Riker enjoyed over 40 years of retirement surrounded by loved ones, including his devoted wife Edie, who sadly passed just weeks before him. The couple shared a long and meaningful life together in Ridgewood.
FMBA Local 47 extends heartfelt condolences to the Riker family, friends, and the entire Ridgewood community during this time of remembrance.
