RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The streets of Ridgewood were alive with patriotic pride and community spirit as residents came together for the 2025 Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration, themed “The Road to Independence.” Organized by the Ridgewood Fourth of July Committee, a dedicated all-volunteer group, the event honored key milestones that led to America’s independence ahead of next year’s 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Founded in 1910 as the Ridgewood Independence Day Association, the committee has long upheld the tradition of organizing one of Bergen County’s most anticipated Independence Day parades and festivities — without funding from the Village government.
2025 Theme: “The Road to Independence”
This year’s theme highlighted the historical events that laid the foundation for the birth of a nation. Celebrations paid tribute to:
-
The Boston Tea Party
-
The First and Second Continental Congresses
-
Paul Revere’s midnight ride
-
The battles of Lexington and Concord
-
George Washington’s appointment as Commander-in-Chief
These moments were brought to life through creative floats, vibrant music, and a strong sense of local pride.

As woke as it gets.
Did Scott Muller march in his cool Ridgewood Baseball uniform?
No he was busy getting rid of the contaminated soil over on the Schedler property. He wants to get a move on lining up those turf vendors for the big payday.
I hope he wears his uniform on the SHPO hearing zoom call.
He definitely should.
