Ridgewood NJ, each year thousands of officials flock to Atlantic City for the New Jersey League of Municipalities conference. The conference is billed as an expo for municipal officials . There they can take classes , earn certificates and visit over 1,000 exhibit booths from vendors at the three day event. https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/watchdog/2019/01/24/nj-town-spending-league-municipalities-conference-2018/2647274002/
North Jersey media reported that this year, local officials from towns in North Jersey spend over $370,000 in taxpayer money at the conference. Towns like Cliffside Park and Fort lee spent well in excess of $15,000 each ,the usualy frugal Midland Park spent over $7500, Ho Ho Kus spent almost $6400, Wycoff spent a bit over $2800 just above Glen Rock which spent just under $2600 , retail heavy Paramus spent just over $1900, Hawthorne spent $1100 and big spending Ridgewood spent a meager $990 .Wait what , Ridgewood only spent $990 ,how can this be?
$990 was not the lowest , but its a pleasant surprise from a council that has come under some criticism for spending over reach.
Waste of time.
Maybe nobody went. Good or bad? Depends on whether the conference has any merit.
Was that to pay for Knudsen’s sons to pull “extra duty” work as her bodyguards?
Too political for me.
Stop with the Knudsen sons. That’s getting old.
