Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood school district has asked the privately owned Ridgewood Nursery School to vacate the space it currently leases inside Glen School by the end of the school year. The eviction came unexpectedly ,giving students barely 5 months to relocate.
Superintendent Daniel Fishbein told the Bergen Record in a statement that Ridgewood is following its signed contract, and will “continue to attempt to work with RNS in a collaborative versus litigious manner.”

Ridgewood Nursery School paid $128,800 in rent for the 2018-19 school year, according to the lease and nursery school, currently serves 66 students from the village and surrounding towns, was notified of the eviction on January 25th . Leaving the future of the 83-year-old nursery school in doubt .

According to the district ,the schools are experiencing a growth in its preschool students with disabilities population and needs to expand its special education programs at Glen School. Critics of the Ridgewood School Board often point out that the massive high density housing being built in the Central business district will generate a need for significant school expansion.
