Ridgewood offering a run-up to Super Bowl

Ridgewood will celebrate the arrival of the Super Bowl with waterside bonfires, chili cook-offs, live music and discounts galore — family-fun events designed to attract out-of-town visitors.
Ridgewood’s Pre-Game Celebration will run for a week before the big game and was organized by the Chamber of Commerce with involvement from various other village organizations.
The village had initially been singled out as a destination for Super Bowl attendees by the game’s local host committee, but “frankly, things didn’t work out,” according to Mayor Paul Aronsohn.
Ridgewood remained determined to do something to commemorate the Feb. 2 game in East Rutherford.

Frankly things didn’t work out? WTF does that really mean?
That means that the people on the committee and our Mayor thought that our town was going to be a destination for all the players and people from the super bowl. Shows how short sited and out of touch our Mayor , Council and the residents on these committee are. “Frankly, things didn’t work out,” you will be hearing this statement a lot from the Three Amigos when they cannot fulfill their campaign promises.
The NFL never intended to include NJ sites. The Superbowl will cost NJ money
And it will cost the Village of Ridgewood money also when some of these people get done putting on a show. “Huddle Zones” give me a break.
Does anyone really think that Super Bowl visitors will come to Ridgewood, when the Manhattan skyline is visible from the Stadium, Hoboken will be awash with celebs and NFL stars, and the teams are also staying in Jersey City? What a waste of our money!
