Ridgewood NJ, at a recent Ridgewood Village Council meeting, Police Chief Lyons proudly recognized several Ridgewood Police Department officers for their exceptional service and dedication to public safety. In addition to celebrating departmental promotions, the evening also served to highlight the impactful work of officers who continue to protect and serve the community with distinction.
Officers Commended for Firearms Arrest
Officer Isaiah Walters and Officer William Malone were honored for their swift and decisive action during a routine motor vehicle stop that resulted in the arrest of a suspect found in possession of two illegal firearms and high-capacity magazines.
“Their alertness and quick response removed dangerous weapons from our streets and undoubtedly prevented further harm,” said Chief Lyons.
Task Force Applauded for Major Criminal Arrest
Chief Lyons also recognized members of a combined Patrol and Investigative Task Force for their outstanding efforts during a recent targeted enforcement operation. The initiative led to the arrest of a suspect connected to serious first- and second-degree crimes, the recovery of a weapon, and the discovery of additional evidence that may link the individual to crimes against children.
