UPDATE: Ridgewood Police officers recipients of meritorious service awards

Ridgewood NJ, Seven (7) Ridgewood Police officers were the recipients of meritorious service awards, which were distributed during tonight’s meeting of the Ridgewood Village Council.
The following officers were honored:
P.O. Peter Tuchol, Jr.Sgt. John ChuckDet, Jeffery CassonDet. Steven ShortwayP.O. Raymond TarinoDet. Peter YoungbergDet. Douglas Henky (not present at meeting)

Officers were recognized at last Wednesday’s council meeting for exceptional work. Officer Peter Tuchol was recognized for his actions off-duty for saving the life of another while working out in a gym in Fair Lawn last month. Officer Tuchol’s quick actions performing CPR on the man saved his life. He shared his award with the family of the man he saved. Sgt. John Chuck, Officers Jeff Casson, Steven Shortway, Ray Tarino, & Peter Youngberg were recognized for their work in the fatal hit and run last year. Also pictured are: Chief Jacqueline Luthcke, Mayor Ramon Hache, Deputy Mayor Susan Knudsen and Council members Mike Sedon, Bernedette Walsh, & Jeff Voight .
