Ridgewood NJ, It is believed a Ridgewood Police Department uniformed patrol officer deployed a Taser gun to subdue an unruly individual in the 400 block of Northern Parkway, Ridgewood at approximately 9:15 PM on Saturday, 01/02.
A resident had called police earlier in the evening about an intoxicated adult male who was reportedly causing a disturbance. The individual was placed in handcuffs after being subdued and transported to The Valley Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Good work. Tasters are definitely the way to go.
Now if they would only allow citizens to carry them to, let’s say, council meetings? Hmmmmmm
9:23 sounds like he’s physically threatening elected officials….where’s the moderator on this thing?
Hey there 10:05 – who threatened any elected officials? Tasers could be used on anyone, they could even be used on members of the public who say what is not popular. Or they could taze you as soon as you hit the 5 minute buzzer. Or they could taze you if you laughed or clapped or made side-bar comments in the audience. Or someone at the mike could taze someone in the audience instead of turning angrily and telling fellow citizens to shut up. It could be a tazer free-for-all, with everyone winding up unconscious.
Or Gwenn could taze a neighbor that she disagrees with. That is, if Gwenn can look up from her iphone long enough.
Nice job rpd. Less-than-lethal force shows its value to cops and the perp.
Everybody gets to go home safely .
Of course they tased him…Ward was the one with the bullet that day and he was home.
