Ridgewood NJ, at Mondays Ridgewood board of Education meeting the  Ridgewood High School Social Justice Club did a presentation on “Implicit Bias”, Three students from the RHS Social Justice Club, Laurence Fine, Nicole Constant, and Amy Adawalla, gave a presentation on Implicit Bias. A longer version of the program had previously been given at an RHS Home and School Association meeting, an RHS faculty meeting, and various club meetings. The students explained implicit bias and discussed Harvard’s IAT tests which can be taken by individuals to measure implicit bias. They shared why we should study implicit bias, how it can lead to discrimination, and what questions should be considered when having these important discussions.

“Implicit Bias” is part of Critical Race Theory…

1)believes racism is present in every aspect of life, every relationship, and every interaction and therefore has its advocates look for it everywhere

2)relies upon “interest convergence” (white people only give black people opportunities and freedoms when it is also in their own interests) and therefore doesn’t trust any attempt to make racism better

3)is against free societies and wants to dismantle them and replace them with something its advocates control

4)only treats race issues as “socially constructed groups,” so there are no individuals in Critical Race Theory

5)believes science, reason, and evidence are a “white” way of knowing and that storytelling and lived experience are a “black” alternative, which hurts everyone, especially black people

6)rejects all potential alternatives, like colorblindness, as forms of racism, making itself the only allowable game in town (which is totalitarian)

7)acts like anyone who disagrees with it must do so for racist and white supremacist reasons, even if those people are black (which is also totalitarian)

8)cannot be satisfied, so it becomes a kind of activist black hole that threatens to destroy everything it is introduced into

Three of them should do senior year in a Paterson school. Then maybe they will understand life.
Maybe a job for the weekends at an inner city bodega for extra credit.

Science and reason are for whites only? What kind of idiotic racism is the school board supporting?

Glad they based this off a test from Harvard, a school that limits the amount of Asians that they admit in order to keep them out – or Asian Hate.
Why would they use a test that comes out of an institution that discriminates against Asian people?
    Weird.

    1) Housing market is red hot.

    2) People looking to move into Ridgewood from out of the area still (ignorantly) think that Ridgewood is a great place to raise kids with a great school system.

    3) Ridgewood is in serious decline and eventually the word will get out … 10 years? 5 years? 2 years?

    4) Sell now. Cash out. Leave while you still have fond memories of the great town that Ridgewood once was.

I hope that the bridge I cross, the plane I fly, and the car I drive are not designed by critical race theory schooled engineers. The resulting design flaws will be truly color blind.

It could be interesting for students of any age to discuss Hank Azaria’s recent statements about his decision to stop being the voice of Apu on The Simpsons, and why.

James, last year you wrote about Ridgewood being a desirable place to live in or move to. Based upon your highlighted comments in that article do you still agree with your assumptions. The following is what some Ridgewood students just researched, https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/new-jersey/2021/04/15/ridgewood-nj-segregated-housing-high-school-fed-challenge-winner/7207953002/

Great for those kids from the high school to uncover the truth about the redlining that did indeed occur. I have been here for 65 years and my friends who were real estate agents back then participated in this shame. Looks like the kids are in good company as they are one of only 12 schools to get an award and there are some pretty prestigious high schools on that list.

Folks, the times they are a changing!!!!!!!

You know, it was just a few years back when these woke-types were nothing more that a small fringe group of idiots who chatted among themselves, put up flyers at the local vegetarian store, held the occasional gathering, but generally dissipated into the ether once they turned 30 and took on real responsibilities.

Now, they are actually affecting the public narrative, broadcast news, public policy, and even rigging elections. I cannot for the life of me understand how their nonsense has been cheered on and accepted by traditional Democrats, who used to be supporters of the free market as long as there were good social safety nets and programs. The majority of my friends were these kinds of Democrats. You are destroying the fabric of our society. I understand the concept of numbers, and okay, the way to win was to build alliances with the various groups that can enlarge the turnout. 10-20 years from now, you are going to wake up from the mother of all hangovers.

If you take the time to actually listen to the presentation, you realize that the only subject discussed was implicit bias, not the rest of CRT as the main post implied.

But that said, trying to rid Ridgewood of implicit bias is a fool’s errand. It’s part of the tribalism ingrained in all humans and no amount of thought policing is ever going to eradicate it.

Funny thing is blacks don’t even bother to complain about this sh!t but whites persist to fix the “errors” made against them. Losers all over the place and it starts with the nutty parents at home who encourage these little pricks to “change” the world. I have to vomit.
