IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM RIDGEWOOD WATER 10/6
Ridgewood Water has received a number of inquiries about chlorine in the water supply. Equipment that feeds chlorine as the water leaves the
Twinny Treatment Facility pumped a higher amount than usual resulting in concentrations as high as 5 parts per million where 4 parts per million
is the maximum allowed by regulation.
Although this impacts only a portion of Ridgewood residents, we are notifying all Ridgewood residents. It is anticipated that the system
will be back to normal by 5 pm today. Please flush your pipes by running your faucets and flushing your toilets. Further
updates will be posted to the Ridgewood Water website at water.ridgewoodnj.net.
So where is this Twinny treatment facility and which residents does it serve? The notification says that only a portion of Ridgewood residents (what about MP and Wyckoff?) are affected. Who are they?
Yet another example of the absolute incompetence of the water utility. When are Stage 4 restrictions going to be terminated or does the utility plan to keep them in place forever? When do they plan to fix their infrastructure so they can accommodate normal use of their system, let alone allow for expansion?
readers are saying they are dumping it into Twinney Pond! !!
They are trying to alleviate the problem by flushing hydrants near the pumping station.
