Ridgewood Water Sues over illegal Toxic Soil Dumping at Wyckoff well site

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Water has launched a law suit against a private company they accuse of trespassing and dumping toxic soil at a Ridgewood Water well site ,polluting the water and forcing the shut down of the well, known as the “Ames Well”. This action left the well offline for months.  Ridgewood Water immediately reported the incident to the state’s Department of Environmental Protection.

The Ames Well (the “Site”) and islocated at 474 Hartung Drive, in the Township of Wyckoff, Bergen County, New Jersey.

Ridgewood Water, is a public water utility providing water to four municipalities in Bergen County, New Jersey: the Borough of Glen Rock,the Borough of Midland Park, the Township of Wyckoff and the Village of Ridgewood,and serving approximately 62,000 customers. Ridgewood Water claims on or about August 23, 2018, Ridgewood Water tested the soil illegally dumped at the Site by collecting three (3) soil samples from the soil pile to document whether the soil was contaminated and to aid in having the soil relocated to a soil recycling facility.

The defendant is Thomas J. O’Beirne & Co.  was a privately-held corporation established in 1983 , having its principal place of business at 37 Woodland Road, Roseland, New Jersey in the County of Essex and State of New Jersey.
