Neither the spirit nor the letter of the law was violated when Ridgewood’s deputy mayor convened an informal meeting on Nov. 27, according to Village Attorney Matt Rogers.
At least two residents suggested last month that Deputy Mayor Albert Pucciarelli violated the state’s Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) when he held the meeting in an effort to gain additional information regarding a proposed ADA-compliant ramp at Graydon Pool. The Village Council vote on the ramp took place Wednesday, Nov. 28.
Pucciarelli indicated that he purposely did not invite other members of the Village Council so as to avoid the legal obligations surrounding a public meeting. One other council member was in the same building where the meeting took place and eventually attended.

You can 6 lawyers the same question and the will give you 6 complete different answers. Do you think as stated by the Deputy Mayor that the second council member who attended the meeting just happened to be around at the same place and the same time. How many were held with Terminal Construction ” Ken Smith property” or how many parking garage meeting were held without anyone knowledge.
Let the guy do his job and stop this nonsense. The battle axes at the outdated LOWV should start worrying about things that actually matter and not their warped interpretation of the spirit of sunshine laws.
Transparency everyone, that’s what this Mayor and Council have touted all along. All we want is for them to be honest. I know its asking alot of a politician but calling respected citizens of this Village battleaxes plays right into the discrimination and assault tactics to hide wrongdoing.
Transparency is an overused and misused term from people that have their head in the sand…and then wonder why they don’t know what’s going on. Elected officials can’t get things done when they have to give a 5 hour explanation for every hour of work. Let them do their jobs…and if you don’t like the results, run for the position, get elected and convince the majority of the governing body to agree with you…..that’s how the process works.
So then that 5 hour explanation that the tiger team said it had to give the council so they would understand the document is what you mean? So much for the process. Where is the report already.
If there was a League of Men Voters, they’d be maligned as a sexist organization so I hope the citizens you refer to do more for the “respect” you think they deserve than belong to the LOWV.
You need a history lesson. Even Nancy Pelosi said that women are discriminated against in the Senate and House.
Her own party elected her House Minority Leader!…how could she be discriminated against??!! What a load of malarkey.
