Ridgewood NJ, the streets of the Village of Ridgewood, were alive with music this past weekend as the village celebrated its first-ever Porchfest. The new, family-friendly event transformed residential porches and public spaces into stages, showcasing local musical talent and bringing the community together for a day of good vibes and great tunes.
Held on Saturday, the inaugural event was a resounding success, drawing large crowds and benefiting from perfect weather. Attendees were able to stroll through the village and enjoy a variety of musical performances from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Organizers billed the event as “a free, family-friendly celebration of local talent” and a way to highlight the vibrant arts scene within the community. In addition to performances on private porches, the South Lawn at West Side also served as a main stage, providing a central hub for the festivities.
Porchfest has quickly become a popular concept in communities across the country, offering a unique, grassroots alternative to traditional music festivals. By bringing performances directly into neighborhoods, it fosters a sense of connection and collaboration that celebrates local artists and the people who live there.
Based on the strong turnout and positive reception, it’s clear that Ridgewood’s Porchfest has struck a chord with residents, and many are already looking forward to the second annual event.

How cool is this!!! We lived on Brookside Avenue and it’s a beautiful street. Great idea for a fund raiser. So sorry to have missed it.
