  1. I heard the Deputy Mayor was a over the top. Turning this tribute to Roger Wiegand in to self serving speech about Blogs. I guess he is angered about some comments that are made on this blog. He would rather they come to the meeting and speak at The Roger Wiegand podium so he could public shame them for speaking their mind from his lofty perch and forever mark them for retribution. .

  2. A big thank you to Roger’s neice Kerry, nephew Mike, and to Mayor Paul Aronsohn for arranging and hosting this event.

Thanks also to everyone who attended, especially to those who shared their special memories of Roger during the Village Hall reception.

However, I was shocked and saddened that Deputy Mayor Albert Pucciarelli chose to incorporate nasty, insulting, belittling, and completely inappropriate comments about “anonymous bloggers” in his prepared tribute to Roger.

Yes Mr. Pucciarelli, the First Amendment of the United States Constitution does guarantee your right to speak your mind, but this was the wrong place and time to do so. In my opinion, your “anonymous blogger” remarks were totally uncalled for and completely disrespectful to Roger, his family, Mayor Aronsohn, and to all of those in attendance at the reception.

  3. Beautiful event. Thank you mayor Aronsohn for making this happen. Thank you to the family. And most of all, thank you Roger.

  4. Mr. Pucciarelli you have failed us. I will never vote for you again.

  5. Mr. P is not too smart is he?

  6. It was so sad that in the midst of so many fond and happy remembrances by people who really loved Roger, this lone gunman had to start shooting his bile. We should not let the deputy mayor’s anger ruin what was otherwise a lovely evening. Everyone else was great, Mayor Aronsohn, all the family and friends and neighbors. Poor Roger, dead too soon, missed so dearly, and then taken advantage of at a memorial by a man with a personal agenda.

  7. Narcissists have such an elevated sense of self-worth that they value themselves as inherently better than others, when in reality they have a fragile self-esteem, cannot handle criticism, and often try to compensate for this inner fragility by belittling or disparaging others in an attempt to validate their own self-worth.

  8. Did Mr. Pucciarelli really say something about holding Roger’s hand as he crossed the door?

  9. Yes, he spoke of holding Roger’s hand, poor Roger, stuck in a coma, unable to say his well-known phrase “get the h**l out of here,” unable to even pull his hand back. It was really intrusive, totally inappropriate, for him to barge in at the end of Roger’s life when his family and friends were in such misery, all so he could say he was there. He was not invited, that is for sure.

  10. From Anne Loving: A special thanks to The Ridgewood News for providing two of the three photos that were displayed last night, and to Tina at The UPS Store for printing all three of them so beautifully. Neither would take any money, so much respect and love for Roger from every corner of this Village. Thank you again.

  11. Maybe we all should find in our harts to forgive Mr. Pucciarelli for his comments last night. It could have been as simple as not taking his medication before the dedication.

  12. Would anyone on this blog want Mr. Pucciarelli to hold their hand as they cross the door? When Mr. Pucciarelli crosses the door the only person worthy to hold his hand would be his other hand.

  13. Heart ( Dam E key)

  14. I know that Roger slammed the door in Mr. Pucciarelli face when he got through.

  15. A door must be sufficiently large to allow a spirit and a HUGE ego to pass through.

  16. It is the trade of lawyers to question everything, yield nothing, and to talk by the hour.

    — Thomas Jefferson

  17. All Great Comments and Observations.
    RIP Roger

  18. Maybe there should be a requirement that anyone running for elected office pass a psychologic test before their name is put on the ballot.

  19. RIP Roger, we hope you smiled down on the event last night.

  20. Egomaniac
A person whose ego exceeds both his intelligence and his capacity to see beyond his own personal interests.

  21. Roger is also smiling at all these posts. Rog do you finally have a computer up there? Are you posting under Anonymous?

  22. Sounds like Al screwed the pooch with his talk.
Did Abdoo have anything to say ?

  23. Pooch sees himself as the next mayor. VOTE FOR SOMEONE ELSE in 2016.

    Sincerely,
A longtime resident who has had enough of these ego trips

  24. Well id he does run for reelection his theme song will be ” I want to hold you hand”

  25. No, he will change the ordinance so he is crowned Councilman for Life. No need to run for reelection.

  26. Sung by the Right Rev Albert (Big Al) Pucciarell
