Route 208 Traffic Held at a Standstill after Clogged Storm Drains Flood Highway

Hawthorne NJ, vehicular traffic on Route 208 northbound through Hawthorne was temporarily halted by flooding from a Sunday afternoon, 06/25, thunderstorm. Members of Hawthorne Fire Company #1 and Hawthorne OEM personnel worked to clear clogged storm drains near Ethel Avenue, Hawthorne in order that the highway could be safely reopened.

  1. IF NJDOT did their job this would never happen.
    The never ending trash and car parts and dead deer on the NJ state highways
    The metal rebar sticking out of the road above rt80 in lodi on the overpass from the exit… these clowns actually had their truck parked there while they were trimming trees…
    time to disband this department and allow private contractors to get the job done right
