East Rutherford NJ, voters turned down a $55 million school referendum for Becton Regional High School, which would have cost the typical taxpayer $176.17 annually in East Rutherford and $171.80 in Carlstadt.
Voters also rejected a $5.6 turf field upgrade in Midland Park, but did approve an $8.8 million plan for a variety of improvements to Northern Highlands Regional High school. In Haworth, the unofficial vote tally was 434 in favor of $8.3 million in school improvements and 422 opposed, with the possibility of some mail-in ballots still to be counted.
