Carlstadt NJ,in a heartbreaking discovery that has shocked the community, Carlstadt police are reaching out to the public for assistance following the tragic death of an emaciated dog found abandoned in a crate earlier this week.

Responding to a distressing call, two dedicated police officers, accompanied by Bergen County Animal Control Officer Veronica Scotti, rushed to an industrial park on Commerce Boulevard in the borough. Chief Thomas Cox revealed in a press release that the officers arrived shortly after 11 a.m. on Monday to investigate reports of a deceased male dog.

Upon arrival, the officers were confronted with a distressing scene: a small, brown dog confined to a crate, visibly suffering from severe malnutrition. Described as resembling a boxer or a mix of breeds, the animal bore no identifiable tags or microchips, leaving its history and origins shrouded in mystery.

Despite exhaustive efforts by law enforcement to scour the area for surveillance footage or any clues pointing to the perpetrators, their endeavors proved futile.

The Carlstadt Police Department is now turning to the community for support in their quest for justice. Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the vicinity or possesses pertinent information regarding this heartbreaking incident is urged to come forward. You can reach out to the Carlstadt Police Department’s criminal investigation unit at 201-438-4810.

Let us unite in solidarity to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable for their reprehensible actions and that justice is served for the innocent life needlessly lost. Together, we can make a difference and prevent such tragedies from recurring in our community.

  1. Heartbreaking and totally disturbing what people do with dogs these days. Too many F…..up people just abandoning dogs. None of those people don’t even deserve a dog. So sad

    1. Totally agree and if the perpetrators are eventually found, the penalty for this abhorrent act will probably be minimal.

  2. If the person would’ve simply shot the dog, they’d be governor material.
