>Despite yesterday’s drenching rain storm, Village Manager James M. Ten Hoeve announced that Stage II water restrictions are now in effect for all communities serviced by Ridgewood Water.
Stage II conditions permit watering of lawns only on an odd/even basis; no sprinkler use is allowed on Mondays. However, use of hand held hoses will be permitted at any time.
Police departments in the four communities impacted (Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Midland Park, and Wyckoff) are being asked to enforce the Stage II watering policy through the issuance of summonses when necessary.
>now here is a real issues that needs to be fixed when the council is not so busy patting themselfs in the back for chase underage drinkers and smokers oh brother …
>Why can’t the water department people drive around and make a list of violations and report it to the police as a complaint?
I don’t think the police need to drive around looking for water violations.
And how enforcing the snow shoveling law.
That’s another joke. But maybe we should start to think about this now BEFORE winter.
>This is absurd. For the amount of taxes we pay in this town and we can’t even water our friggin lawns.
>Hey 9;30
stage II : Lawn irrigation is limited to odd – even days*.
No irrigation is allowed on MONDAYS at any time.
Irrigation using hand held hose is permitted on any day at any time, except on Mondays.
That right off the towns web site, I don’t see anything about that you can’t water at all if it does please let me know
>Let Wyckoff buy water from United in Franklin Lakes and we use the surplus water.
Its the Ridgewood Water Co. not Wyckoff water Co.
Can’t the water co. tell by the bills who is watering for hours?
Compare summer and winter bills.
>this is a joke our water dept are idiots
>8:14PM
Did you ever hear of another shift?
Start another shift for 2 weeks two men, two trucks.
Cover the whole town and write Warning violations that you mail with the time and date of violation. You can to that.
If this persists then get the cops involved.
>11:14 am
That sounds great two men two trucks = 4 hundred miles of water mains and 4 towns that might work NOT
” how come the water dept. did not think of that” you idiot
>IDIOTS
Lets see you go and fix water main breaks all hours of the night in – 0 weather and 1 foot of snow on the ground
So I guess the idiots are not so bad after all
you must not like waking up in the morning and making a pot of joe or being able to flush the john or take a shower
so lets realy think about it
are they realy idiots????
>I would not blame the workers. After all they do what they are told. Second of all If we were to loose FL, WYC, MP, and GR who would pay the bills?
>does anyone here remember united water tearing up ridgewood years ago so that a huge main (looked like 48′) could connect their system to the wanaque resevoir? It tore up the town from ridgewood ave past ridge school, then down linwood where it met united waters other mains near paramus road. What benefit did ridgewood get? ZERO. while they water their golf courses, and customers water all they want, we get put on restrictions… all while united water sends its profits home to france! of course what I get for obeying the rules is a brown lawn…and my neighbors with their sprinker systems green it up and NEVER get fined… go figure (perhaps a Village website that one could simple POST the address of a violater??=same for unshoveld walks)…i bet our blogger could do that! HINT HINT!!)
>6:40
The water in the united pipe is not treated. I comes right from wanaque res.
>Watch what you wish for.
United’s water tastes very bad.
The town could connect up to them and you’ll have bad tasting water forever but you’ll have green lawns in the summer.
>thses clowns dont do anything
>this is ridiclous ,every friggin year you must be joke ,get rid of the village council NOW!
>there is no reason for this except total incompetence !!!! every year
>i recall a few years ago when our water bills effectively DOUBLED. The excuse was ‘not enough water was being used/sold etc’….so NOW that we are using TOO MUCH….where do I go for my refund? sounds like fuzzy math to me….
>Not to throw more gas on the fire, but ~11:00pm last night (Monday) the back field at Ben Franklin was being watered via the in ground sprinkler system.
>8:10AM
Thanks–you must have been on that second shift someone talked about a few days ago.
Maybe that’s not a bad idea after all.
So much for stage II.
>MORE BULL .
