Clinton Township NJ, Mysterious drone activity continues to puzzle New Jersey residents and officials, with sightings of large, unidentified drones reported across the state. Local leaders, including State Senator Jon Bramnick (R-21) and U.S. Senator Andy Kim, are calling for immediate federal action to address the concerns and provide transparency on the situation.
Senator Bramnick: “We Are Not Seeing Bigfoot”
State Senator Jon Bramnick expressed frustration with the federal response to the ongoing drone incidents. In a statement, Bramnick criticized the lack of clarity from the White House, saying:
“Last night I received multiple videos of large drone sightings from citizens. The White House is saying ‘we are not seeing what we are seeing.’ Let’s be clear, this is not similar to ‘Bigfoot’ sightings; these are clear images. We need the Defense Department to investigate.”
Bramnick’s statement underscores the urgency and growing concern among New Jersey residents who are witnessing unexplained drone activity in their communities.
Senator Kim Witnesses Drone Activity Firsthand
U.S. Senator Andy Kim took to the field alongside Clinton Township law enforcement to investigate drone reports in Hunterdon County. Over the course of two hours, Kim and local police observed dozens of drones flying overhead. Following the visit, Kim reiterated his demand for a thorough federal investigation.
“It’s hard for people to feel secure when there are unexplained drones flying overhead and they’re not getting answers they need from the federal investigation,” said Kim. “This has been going on for weeks, and I’m just as frustrated as everyone else in not getting more information and details.”
Kim’s concerns echo those of local residents, and his on-site visit highlighted the need for transparency from federal authorities.
Federal and Local Collaboration Urged
On the same day as Kim’s visit, he joined Senators Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Cory Booker in publishing a letter urging the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and FBI to brief lawmakers on their response efforts. The letter calls for a detailed explanation of the steps being taken to identify and address the mysterious drone sightings.
“People deserve answers,” Kim stated. “We don’t need conspiracy theories or conjecture. We need assurances that the people charged with keeping us safe are on top of this issue.”
Clinton Township Police Chief Tom DeRosa, who accompanied Kim during his visit, echoed the senator’s sentiments. “I’m hoping that we can all work together to help identify who these drones are and what they are doing in our neighborhoods,” said DeRosa.
State and Federal Investigations Continue
Governor Phil Murphy has also been actively engaged in addressing the drone issue. On December 4th, Senator Kim participated in a briefing hosted by Governor Murphy and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to discuss the federal investigation and inter-agency coordination.
While federal agencies, including the FBI and FAA, continue to investigate, many questions remain unanswered. Residents and officials alike are seeking clarity on the origins and purpose of these drones and assurances that public safety is not at risk.
As drones continue to appear across New Jersey skies, local and federal leaders are under mounting pressure to deliver answers and restore peace of mind to communities.
