Newark NJ, on Friday, a United Airlines flight originating from Tel Aviv and destined for Newark Airport was redirected to Stewart International Airport in New York due to turbulent weather conditions.
According to the airline, the diversion was necessitated by high winds and turbulence encountered en route to Newark.
Upon landing at Stewart International Airport, approximately 200 passengers were attended to by first responders from various agencies, coordinated by Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus’s office.
While some passengers were transported to nearby hospitals for precautionary evaluations, the remainder were later transported back to Newark Airport.
Neuhaus expressed gratitude towards the swift and effective response of the first responders, highlighting their collaborative efforts in managing the situation during the Good Friday evening. Although no serious injuries were reported among the passengers, Neuhaus extended wishes for their speedy recoveries and safe onward travels.
United Airlines reported that one passenger disembarked due to a medical incident, while a few others received medical attention for possible motion sickness.
Following refueling, the flight resumed its journey and successfully landed at Newark Airport.

When the seatbelt sign is on, it’s time to stop praying in the aisles and sit in your seat.
How ridiculous do you have to be to pray during a situation like this? I’ve seen it. As if the turbulence didn’t come from God too? You think He’s just waiting to see if anyone on the plane prays hard enough and then he’ll intervene? And if they don’t?
Don’t be such a hateful bitter person.
