Student Representative Report Ava Martin, Ridgewood High School said , Some recent updates on the students’ side regarding the later start time issue. It’s an issue that many students are passionate about and a lot of them are definitely in favor of a later start time. Some fears from athletes, but the plan described by Mr. Nyhuis hopes to ensure that there will be minimal interference with sports. Another concern from parents is loss of or shift in instructional minutes. As a student, I would like to share that not all minutes have the same instructional value.
Just so stoopid.
So says you grandpa.
The students, whom this directly affects are making changes to their future, not yours.
Your crap about “ the real world” and all its implications
Fell on deaf ears. Why? Because they don’t want to live in the construct of what you call a real world. Who would? Look at YOU.
I don’t know, I did pretty well. I retired at 57.
So, yeah, look at me.
“I got mine, so F you!”
Lets see how quickly the principal buckles to the athletic coaches who hold pre school workouts. Then we can revisit the Robinson chart and adjust the 9hrs of sleep back to 7hrs.
These kids will just stay up even later now. Ridiculous plan.
This would have changed my life as a young student. Bravo.
The entire town does not have to bow to sports. It’s bad enough already having lost all the parks.
continue to make students less and less prepared for the real world and less competitive
Bunch of snowflakes. Let’s Also create an extra break with mommas milk for the extra – marginalized.
They’ll just stay up later, banging their phones all night.
Wonder Who benefits from this ridiculous plan? Teachers union? Is sleep really that important?!?! How did we survive as a species? Snowflakes.
